1  Buckbeak Mosaic from Harry Potter in Glass Crafts: Completed Projects by laurenrox on: January 08, 2010 07:01:46 PM

This was my first foray into the world of mosaics! I cracked the glass myself with a hammer! I'd really like to get back into this, but I sold all my supplies when I moved states, and I don't know a good, cheap glass supplier in town. I'll have to keep my eyes out (with protective glasses covering them, of course).

It's Buckbeak from the Harry Potter series! It's just mounted on an inexpensive plastic serving tray. I had a lot of fun doing it, but I sort of need a whole room to do things like this or roommates begin to dislike you.

Materials used: glass shards, hammer to crack glass into smaller shards, grout, grout coloring, plastic tray, protective eyewear.

What I learned: Don't shove your hand into a box of glass! That makes blood happen. The more you knoooow!
