1  Re: Altered Puzzle Pieces, Round 9 in The Swap Gallery by GoldenSunshine on: July 28, 2014 11:35:36 AM
I am giving a huge apology to my partners; rocowtown, Perfectly Bohemian, artmomto5 and whatthepuck! Things has gotten crazy here, and the weather had took a toll on me, heat, so much sun = migraine for 4-5 days in a row. Agh!

I have mentioned that I received from the 4 partners above, and here they are!!
rocowtown: She decided to use magazine clippings! I love the idea!

Perfectly Bohemian: I love the way she drew these, she also sent me a prototype but she didn't want to use it because it was similar to another puzzle piece.

Prototype! It took a few seconds to figure out what it was, and I couldn't figure out the "O" lol

artmomto5: Sequin hearts and a heart patch- love them!

Lastly whatthepuck: These are cute drawings! One thing I found was it was decorated on the "puzzle image", it was supposed to be on the cardboard side; I have to figure out how to move the image to the other side without tearing the drawings. :-/

Thank you ladies!! Now I am waiting to receive from seeuudee, and here's a almost completed puzzle- Two pieces were flaked; never received the blanks back :-( so I am working on making duplicate of it, and two needs to be glued on, the paper were a bit smaller than the puzzle piece, I am going to place another paper on first then paste the drawings on that. And two of the blanks are for me to decorate!

I am posting for Aunty-hela also. She is at her dad's place and not able to post photos from her ipad- I told her I will do it for her. It took me a while to come up with an idea! Here they are!
She wanted a doily idea or a lace one, and I was able to do one of those! I even threw in neon color ribbons and a metal feather! Ignore the clutter in my china cabinet- Living in a one bedroom apartment is getting overwhelming and had no place to store my favorite knick knacks!

For the smaller idea- I got hooked on needle felting and found this idea on her pinterest and wanted to give it a go. It took me a while to figure out the cloud and how to attach it to the fabric!

Hope you love them Aunty-hela!! :-D

Okay everybody! I received a few days ago but was not able to post due to my time to pack up and go to spend some nature life. My partner was Aunty-hela! I was having a crappy week and I was surprised to see a package from her in the mail Thursday!

I LOVE it! Sun shaped into a smaller hoop, pretty cool is it?!

For the smaller piece, she sent me a smaller DC but it is on a key chain. She lost a feather on the way, but that is easily fixable. I think I am going to change it into a necklace, I am worried that I am going to lose it while it is on a key chain.... (I have a dog that loves to carry my keys around). I love the natural color of this one!

Once again, THANK YOU!!! :-D Now I gotta find a better place to hang!

I received my angel puzzle piece from JillHogan! This time I did something different, I scanned the puzzle piece from the computer and send her an attachment through email, she traced the outline and made it out of a piece of paper, and I receive the pieces, and I glue them to my puzzle piece. I haven't gotten around to do that, but I will do it soon, and post a updated "completed so far" photo soon! Thank you for being an sweet angel for me and my partners!

Sorry for the delay! I've been sick for a while then since Saturday it has been raining on and off. Didn't get decent photos. But I managed to take photos today! I received from Smeddley! She sent a wonderful perfect sewing needle/pin holder (whatever it is called!) I do sew, many different projects infact! I really LOVE this one, so I am keeping it for myself!!  (Even I have one myself, but it looks like crap, this one looks much better! lol)

Close up of the felt flowers!

Thank you so much Smeddley!!

While everyone else posted, get jealous! I received from 4 of my partners, hopefully will get my last two pieces soon! :-D
I hope I got the pieces right from each partner!
First- I received from CDEeeek- I love the quote! My husband loves the moon!

Second- I receieved from Smmarrt- Love the second one, my husband said- this is perfect! The glitter piece, funny is that I hated glitter before, but after I got into resin, I love glitter again! :-D

Third-I got my next two pieces from rscowtown- These two are just perfect! Did you use ink/rubber stamp?

Forth- I got my next pieces from vincentvanbuck- I like the way you used polymer clay for the first time, and you did well! My husband mentioned that he likes the idea of you using the paper on the sun piece, "tai yo, with a line above the O" :-) I also enjoyed the postcard- **I am a postcard collector, I gather postcards from friends, myself from travelings, blank ones from anyone. Thank you! I don't think I got a postcard from Basque yet!

I received two fabulous pieces for my quotes puzzle from Golden Sunshine:

Be happy - it drives people crazy! I need to remember this when I want to rant!

And from Dr. Seuss' "Many Colored Days":

On the back it says, "On different days, I'm different, too."

These are great additions to my puzzle - thanks so much!

I never heard of this Dr. Seuss book before, so it was fun to learn something new, and figure out what I could connect to your themes! The "Be Happy" one was my favorite!

9  Re: Microwave Glass Kiln in Glass Crafts: Discussion and Questions by GoldenSunshine on: March 20, 2014 09:43:17 AM
@GoldenSunshine: I can't help you with your microwave fusing schedule. But you should pop the bubbles before they go into the kiln while they are still cold.

I'd like to see a picture of the dichroic piece you mentioned. It is common for glass to move around while melting, sometimes up the sides of another piece. Black absorbs a lot of heat and moves much more than white does in the kiln.

I didn't mean to ask about the microwave fusing schedule. I just was sharing my process. How do you pop bubbles when the glass is cold, the bubbles happens in between each microwave cycle? I'm confused.
Here's a photo of the strange dichroic piece.

I did a different one, but it is on top of black and clear glass. That came out better.

10  Microwave Glass Kiln in Glass Crafts: Discussion and Questions by GoldenSunshine on: March 17, 2014 11:53:19 AM
I am brand new at this Fuseworks Microwave Kiln. And I am wondering why I have these several huge bubbles at the top of my piece, can anyone explain to me? What I did is, I made sure all my glass pieces were 90 COE, and I might remembered I mixed up Fuseworks glass and regular 90 COE glass that I got from the glass store, does that affect the product? It had everything in there were from the glass store, except the white broken pieces were from the kit that it came with the kiln. Help!  Smiley
