1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Blue polka-dot JJ Blouse on: February 17, 2011 01:31:20 PM
I finished this blouse in a few days, and have gotten so much use out of it!  I wear a lot of blue/khaki combos, especially in the summer, so you know I wore this about once a week!   It looks good untucked, belted, or tucked in, and I like the sleeves.

I will definitely use this pattern* again, maybe play with the ruffles and sleeves.

Ignore the Down-a-clown, this is just me running a carnival game again.

You could use the cotton for dishcloths/washcloths/handtowels too.  I think it makes a nice hostess gift if you have enough to make a set.

Cute bags!!

I am a nerd and am going through my stash putting tags on things to remind me what my plan is to make with each thing.  Maybe I need a bulletin board or something to get me motivated.

I like being so motivated by watching what you guys make!
4  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Craftalongs / Re: 50 Projects 2010 on: February 08, 2010 02:30:28 PM
I'm nerdy so I have been staring at my list (got some valentines and socks made this weekend-- cross two things off!) and have decided to set monthly goals.

Goals for Feb
7.   Sachets
1.  ~  *Mittens for Britt
9.   *Dress
30. ~  Stout cakes-in-a-can
34.   -Re-claim pink single-ply scarf
4.  ~  Yoga bag for Mal

The squiggles are for time-sensitive pieces... to go in Valentine's Day packages! Smiley
Six things would be a lot to finish with 2/3 of the month left but they are small things.

I'm in the 50 Projects in 2010 Craft-along, and it's mainly with the goal of de-stashing!

Things to get rid of, with ideas on how to use it:

Boring fabrics I bought for utility and then never used
                 - book covers
                 - work clothes?
                 - yoga bag for sister
                 - new knitting bag
                 - apron
                 - Project Linus quilts/rag quilts
-small practice projects from sewing books, probably to give to friends

Special yarns I don't have the heart to give away
                - sweater for me!
                - small projects like neckwarmers, gloves, hats, etc. for christmas!
                - edgings/embellishments

Paper
                - valentines, greeting cards
                - handmade journals!

My Personal Rules for De-Stashing (maybe by writing it out I can make myself follow them?  Yeah right...):
* No new fabric until current dress and yoga bag is done
* No new yarn until current socks, sweater, and mittens are done
* Only buy paper after current stash is mostly gone and only as needed

Any other helpful rules?  Charity ideas for stash I don't need for myself/anyone I know?  Currently planning to make Project Linus quilts and maybe a baby set for FunkyFinds Spring Fling to donate to their raffle.

ETA: Finished the socks and valentines this weekend!   Made infinitesimally small dent in stash. More projects for this month that should eat up some more projects listed here!

Is it linoleum like a piece of tile?  Like from Home Depot?  A-maze-ing.
7  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Re: Table Cloth on: February 03, 2010 07:55:47 AM
I was showing this to my boyfriend saying how you could make a store, a fort, a spaceship, a castle, a log cabin, a wigwan, etc,  and he was like "Yeah you coudl even make one side a house and the other side a castle or something, and get twice the fun out of one project"

... I need someone I know to have a kid. Asap.

There's a Barnes & Noble over by Northpark Mall, would you ladies want to meet there?  I'm betting they have some sort of coffee/tea establishment inside where we could take up space!!!?

Let me know if that location is good and then we'll work out a date!
