2  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / Classy Beaded Napkin Rings!!!! **NOW WITH TUTE!** on: August 15, 2007 09:12:45 PM
My sister just moved into her first apartment and I put together a housewarming 'kit'.  My family's always been pretty big on cloth napkins (you know, save paper... pretty fabrics) so I thought I'd make her some classy beaded napkin rings.

They actually were perfect for weeding out some of my random solo beads.
Here's some pics:

And here's all five:

Comments and questions are always appreciated, thanks for looking!
Love!

So...after typing that header, I was a little confused for a while on whether or not 'wazoo' was a negative connotation.  Anyways..point is that it takes me forever to sit down and actually load pictures of all the beaded stuff I make.

Hope you like them!

4  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / The Shins and Neutral Milk Hotel! Indie Brilliance..um yeah!! on: August 04, 2007 12:14:46 PM
Hey guys,
So here are two shirts that I stencilled for my boyfriend's birthday.
The first is from a Shins EP:

This shirt is a stencil of these weird little doodles that Jeff Mangum, who's the lead singer of Neutral Milk Hotel, drew with the lyrics from "Aeroplane over the Sea"

I apologize for the slight blurriness of the photos, the shirts aren't hazy like that.

Any comments or questions are really appreciated!  Hope you guys like them and if you've never heard of Neutral Milk Hotel, you should totally check them out!
Thanks!
5  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / Birds, balloons, and lightning! on: January 13, 2007 10:05:15 AM
Here's some random shirts I stencilled over the past couple of months:

I dabbed the paint on this one with some kleenex to give it a little bit of a vintage-y look.  Not sure how much it worked...

"This is where electricity comes from"

I free-handed the swallow without a stencil

Comments are welcome and appreciated!
Thanks!

7  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / Oi with the Earrings Already! (holy crow, image heavy) on: June 12, 2006 06:42:16 AM
So because I'm super duper lazy about posting, no one on here ever gets to see my earrings and I end up making at least one new pair a day!

has anyone else noticed what a blackhole of money spending beading can be? I feel kind of silly selling them and I just end up giving all of mine away because I'm silly like that.

anyways, on with the earrings. I have to apologize because the pictures are really poor and don't do the materials justice. boo.

sterling silver and sunstone

garnet wrapped in sterling silver wire

sterling silver wire, turquoise squares and glass

sterling silver, died red wood, turqouise chips, orange agate

sterling silver chain, wire, orange coral, blue jade, brass tube thingies

sterling silver chain, wire, black czech crystal, black speckled obsidian teardrops

sterling silver chain, wire, fresh water pearls

s.s. wire, in order: blue czech crystal, blue speckled quartz, blue goldstone  (I call these earrings my acid rain snowmen, haha)

I actually have absolutely no clue what I used for these earrings. sorry

s.s. wire, chain, fresh water pearl, blue/gold speckled quartz.

these were made from some shell that I found in Corsica, my brother then cut it in the shape that I wanted because he's handy like that

and finally here's another necklace I made, sorry the pictures are so unclear.

It's made from two strands of those pinkish glass beads and then a piece of scalloped pink/purplish sea glass wrapped in s.s. wire

I wish the pictures were better so that you guys could see what a wicked cool piece of seaglass it is, I did a really happy dance when I found it last summer.
Well, if anyone's made it this far, you've just replaced Chuck Norris as my number 1 hero. hahaha, thanks and let me know what you think!
8  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / Ridiculous 22 strand necklace! on: June 12, 2006 06:13:41 AM
So I made this necklace when my boyfriend and I were watching this huge marathon of Monty Python's Flying Circus, live. It was excellent to say the least.

anyways, the necklace has 22 strands (oi vey!) and little cone thingies at the clasp to make it look pretty.

the beads

and the clasp/cone thingies

And here's a picture of it on me:

Tell me what you all think!
9  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / I've got Marx on my shirt! on: June 12, 2006 06:09:40 AM
So me and my friends are kind of obsessed with Cold War history and with communist leaders soo...currently we're working on a commie leader of the day t shirt collection (i.e. Mao Monday, Trotsky Tuesday, etc.)

anyways, I got the idea for this shirt during one of our study sessions for my IB HL History exam

It says "I've got Marx on my shirt"  and has a picture of Karl Marx.

The stencil looks a little wonky because of my boobs, sorry.

Oh and I'm holding my Communist Manifesto by Marx himself. haha, I'm a loser
10  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / Freedom Angel Stencil Whatnots on: February 04, 2006 10:41:03 AM
So I sewed and came up with this stencil myself. I'm pretty happy with it.
It's an angel with lilies at her feet and a banner that says "Freedom".

Let me know what you guys think!
