12  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / WALL-E! on: October 31, 2011 02:46:30 PM
So my little boy wanted to be WALL-E this year. Nevermind that he has an awesome Buzz Lightyear getup with wings, utility belt and astro blaster gun from last Christmas... he just had to be his favorite robot. So, being the crafter that I am, I found a diaper box, an old hat, a pair of mittens, my scissors, trusty glue gun and lots of felt and went to work.

Here he is...

My 3 year old as a Waste Allocator Load Lifter Earth Class, a.k.a. WALL-E!

Showing off his 3 fingered hands:

He has been reenacting the scene from the movie where WALL-E tries to hold hands with himself. So cute.

And a side shot:

Also, it's not in the pics but I may add it after tonight, he has been collecting his candy in a little red ice chest just like the one WALL-E collects his treasures in. Cheesy

Thanks for letting me share!

14  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / because who doesn't want a... on: May 01, 2011 10:07:10 PM
Happy Blender!

I am in the one tiny stuffie swap and on my partner's list of ideas were kitchen appliances - namely a "happy blender." Well, I just had to try to make a tiny happy blender and this is what I came up with. (The moustache was part of her "tiny disguise" to get her through the postal system safely.  Smiley

Here she is without the 'stache

Her lid is removable and inside are little tiny blender blades. (Wouldn't be a blender without 'em. Smiley)

She comes apart for easy cleaning.  Wink

Sorry about the bad pic, but to give you an idea of how tiny she is:

There you have it! My take on a tiny, happy blender stuffie.
She was completely sewn by hand. She's made of fleece, buttons, safety eyes and love.

15  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / What do lemmings do when they're waiting for their turn? on: April 09, 2011 07:53:32 AM
They knit!
(I debated putting this on the knitting board, but since Lemmy himself is crocheted, I put him here. Cheesy)

I used a pattern from a fellow Craftster -PlanetJune (thanks June!)- and made this little guy.

I added the scarf, yarn & needles.  Smiley

He is knitting his scarf on a pair of toothpick-size knitting needles with sock weight yarn.

If he can't finish his scarf soon he may never jump!

Thanks for looking!  Cheesy
16  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Fanny the Roller Derby Flamingo! on: April 09, 2011 07:44:13 AM
My partner received in the Yarnie Scavenger Hunt Swap so I can post pics of this lovely lady:

I used a free pattern (found on ravelry) to knit up the flamingo - she has a raquetball in her body so she's round AND bouncy!

... I came up the knee and wing pads, helmet and skates on my own because my swap partner loves roller derby.

Here's her funny face.  Smiley

She was super fun to make and easy to personalize.

18  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / My little little brother on: March 16, 2011 11:45:17 AM

Who is that dashing little guy?
--Why it's none other than my little brother!
Why is he wearing a ghost shirt?
--My brother has worn that shirt almost every day since he was 5. It's his favorite.

I decided to make him an amigurumi version of himself for his birthday. I'm relatively new to crochet and I wasn't confident about making up my own pattern so I found a pattern for Link from the Legend of Zelda (http://tanoshimou.wordpress.com/2010/05/27/link-legend-of-zelda-amigurumi-free-pattern/)
and tweaked it. I'm rather happy with how he turned out.

He's only about 5 inches tall. He's made of acrylic yarn, his hair is fun fur and the little ghosties are felt and handsewn on.

What do you think?
