3  One tiny stuffie swap round ... is it 9? in New Swap Theme Ideas by Whistley on: April 21, 2015 11:14:32 AM

I've been thinking that I think it may be time to revisit the one tiny stuffie swap! It's either been a really long time or I've just missed them.

The idea is that we make our partner one tiny (fits in a 5"x5" square) stuffie. The medium isn't important (sewn, knit, crocheted, felted) as long as it's a stuffie made to our partner's likes.

Anyone interested?

(Also, I don't want to step on toes so if you organized the last round(s) and would like to keep organizing these please let me know.)

4  Re: Common Ground 3 - GALLERY!! in The Swap Gallery by Whistley on: April 17, 2015 08:24:29 PM
I am loving this gallery so far! I received from jellybean89 today. (I'm surprised it got here so fast. I seem to have mailed hers super snail mail. I'm wondering if it's being delivered by an actual snail.) Anyway! On to the goodies!!!

First, some stitch markers, Doctor Who themed, of course. Smiley

Next a beautiful hoopla! It's really quite lovely. See for yourselves.

Finally, (you must tilt your head to the left to see it but I promise it's worth it)

It's baby Groot!!!!! (jellybean89 also sent some grass that goes over the rocks but I wanted y'all to see as much of my amazing little Groot as you can. I am just in awe of little Groot. I love all the details, especially the little twig sticking out of his head. My kids haven't seen the movie but they have seen the dancing Groot clip and they all want him. Noperoo! He's mine! I love, love, love him!

And, if that wasn't amazing enough, she sent some awesome extras:

*a Fezzik card! I may put him in a little frame and add him to my Princess Bride wall in my craft room.
*note pads (one can never, ever have too many of these)
*some yarn ball stitch markers.
*a cute sheep card (baaaaaad hair day) she found at her LYS
*chocolate!!! That's the box that says "erci". The M is covered up by the...
*wonderful purple wool yarn.
*some hand dyed Princess Bride yarn! This colorway is called "As You Wish". I am so excited that this exists!!!

Thank you so much jellybean89! Because of all of the extras you sent there will be a part two to your swap package - not only to ease my swap anxiety but as a thank you for everything!  Thank you, thank you, thank you!

5  Re: Spell My Name Round 11 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by Whistley on: April 16, 2015 05:13:21 PM
I received from Kayrun today (it arrived super fast!).
Here it is all wrapped up:

The extras weren't wrapped. Smiley I can't wait to use the Sharpie oil paint markers. And the Swedish fish are all gone. My toddlers may or may not have helped me devour them. Kayrun did some excellent stalking!

E is for Earings from my Etsy wants.

Sorry they are a little blurry. I promise they are not blurry in person. Little Mickeys!!!

M is for Mouse. A TARDIS mouse!

and her little face:

I is for Individual characters from Up (One of my 2 very favorite movies)

And here it is, already at home on my Up wall

L is for a Loop for my neck

I love this stitch! It is super soft and the color is wonderful too!

Y is for Yarny creation... It's a Dalek washcloth!

I'm not sure I can use it. It's way too cool.

Thank you Kayrun!!! I love it all! You are wonderfully talented! Smiley

6  Re: Be AWESOME (Redux) GALLERY! (Sendout March 23) in The Swap Gallery by Whistley on: March 28, 2015 11:49:11 AM
Oh My Goodness! I just received my awesome item from Lo{ve}!!!

Pixar's Up is one of my very, very favorite movies.
Whether you like the movie or not you must admit that this is pretty awesome:

I did a little happy dance when I saw it! Then promptly went to my new craft room (my Christmas present this year) took a picture then gave it its place on my Up wall! I love my new craft room because I now have hoopla walls!

Here it is on my Up wall:

And a couple close ups:

I love, love, love it!  Thank you Lo{ve}!

7  Re: Box of Color Round Two in The Swap Gallery by Whistley on: February 06, 2015 08:44:53 AM
It's here! LadybugsAndBumblebees sent me a box of purple-y goodness!

Everything was wrapped nicely, but I couldn't wait to take pictures of it. Here it all is!
(The purples are much richer and brighter but my camera didn't pick it up in this light. Also, the blur in the corner is my 3 year old's hand. He couldn't wait to get his hands on everything - again. Smiley)

We have:

*a beautiful crocheted purse (note the ladybug and bumblebee stamped tag inside - so clever and cute!)

*an amazing crocheted chunky scarf. It is awesome! I love the wideness and the thickness of it. The little flower embellishment on the bottom is very me. The back of it has another stamped fabric bit that says "just a creative type of girl". I love it!

*a crocheted pouch for holding my crochet hooks. It's lined with the same sweet purple fabric as the purse.

*a flower pincushion. I haven't put pins in it yet. My little ones have been having fun scrunching up the petals and making it "bloom"

*a crocheted key chain lip balm cozy with wonderfully soothing Avon care lip balm inside.

*a sparkly bracelet that's just my style - but I'll have to wait my turn. My 2 year old little girl is parading around with it on. She says, "It's bootiful!"

*lovely extras: a candle holder w/a battery operated tea light candle, Tahitian orchid bath salts, a 2015 date book, a pack of key chain gel pens, a funny crooked pen and some funky purple trim.

*also, the note she wrote is on a purple Mary Engelbreit card. I love her art. Her "Queen of Everything" prints are some of my very favorite.

Thank you LadybugsAndBumblebees! I love it all!

8  Re: Winter Ninni Gallery - Send out January 15, 2015 in The Swap Gallery by Whistley on: January 12, 2015 07:45:06 PM
I received this evening from cmarion3 and let me tell you that I have serious swap anxiety now... Smiley

First was this cute little pouch

filled with jelly bellys!

These didn't last very long. Let's just say I put my diet on hold until tomorrow. The kids and hubs helped too.

Now, onto the Ninni goodness! She didn't send me a Ninni. She sent a Yetinni!

She's wearing the cutest little knit hat and scarf and is so wonderfully fuzzy. I just love her!

But wait! There's more!

She also sent a boy Yetinni. Before she sent them she left them alone for a bit and we all know what happens when a girl and a boy Yetinni are left alone Wink

Baby Yetinni's!

I have 4 kids (ages 8, 6, 3 and 2) and she made a Yetinni for each one of them. We have a family of Yetinnis that matches our own! Fun story, my kids always want to steal my swap stuff so I showed them just the Mom and Dad. They all ran to me wanting to claim them. I said, "No way! These are mine! But you can have one of these!" and showed them the little Yetinnis. They are so excited to each have their own Yetinni. They snuggled with them all night and are currently in bed, each with their own little Yetinni. (I had to wait until they went to sleep to post pics. Smiley)

This beautiful note explains how the little Yetinnis came to be and what they like to eat etc.

I know you can't read it but it was too cute not to post.

And check out this neat little detail on the crate that held the little ones

Again, hard to read because of the lighting but it says "the Yetinni Family"

I love them so much! They are perfect! Even hubby was excited to have his own Yetinni. My kids love them too. Thank you so, so much!

(I hope cmarion3 likes what I'm sending just half as much as I love these.)

9  Re: Little Visitor Swap Round 19- Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by Whistley on: October 06, 2014 01:34:50 PM
When I sent 'Uluwehi back my 6 year old said, "Mom, I have some bad news and some good news. The bad news is 'Uluwehi is going home. The good news is that Stella is coming home!"

Stella came home on Saturday. I'm so sorry it's taken me so long to post pictures!

Stella and all her goodies:

The fabric that everything is resting on is a beautiful sarong!

Some post cards, brochures and other souvenirs from her travels:

2 necklaces:

A beautiful box made by mountains and clouds. She took the picture too. It's so pretty!

And inside the box were 2 pendants and some matching earrings.

The scrapbook is beautiful. Each page is handwritten. Here are some pages (I couldn't pick my favorites):

Thank you Mountains and Clouds! Stella had a great time and we had tons of fun in the swap.

As promised, here are the pictures of the amazing package I received from sewmess:

Group shot!

I love bags and pouches! I love, love, love this awesome Mickey inspired bag!

And these 2 pouches! One of them -the adorable boxy pouch- has already been filled with little things (like our first aid kit) for our Disneyland trip!

Finally, an Up hoodie! Here's a closer up of the art on it:

Thank you sewmess! This has been an awesome swap!
