3  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Help me to make this dress!! on: May 23, 2011 04:00:33 PM
Hi,

Well I sort of suck at sewing but I've fallen in love with this dress but have no idea how to make it.

This is the dress:
http://www.lipsy.co.uk/store/religion/religion-layered-grecian-drape-dress/product-is-DR05270_091

I love the grecian style but I would change the colour and the fitting around the bust as that would swamp me and make me look even smaller than I already am! Any help would be amazing especially if it was nice and simple for special me!!!! Grin

Thanks

Wow these look great. I have been staring longingly as TotusMel's stuff for ages but you have actually convinced me to spend what little money I have on some needles (which were really difficult to find as no-one seems to do them here in the UK!!) Oh well I hope I can be as good as you or at the very least not make too much of a mess when it all goes wrong! Thanks for the inspiration.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions! I've wanted to try polymer clay for a while so this might have just given me an excuse. Thanks for the great websites Diane B! x46 that is a great plan. I'm constantly seeing jewellery at charity shops and places like that I can use which are so cheap. I'll think I'll try that, and no I was just wondering if anyone said using silver so better as I was unsure about what to use. Wow, Scott Chaffin, Purplepandas rock. Damn I really want to move to USA just for the much better craft stores out there. Come on England don't you understand that British people craft too! Ok I'm definitely going to have to look at international postage as I love those charms!!! Grin

Thanks again everyone!!!! Grin Grin Grin
7  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: OTET: One Tiny Embroidered Thing Sign ups until June 5th/ Send-outs July 12th on: June 19, 2010 02:54:54 PM
Oh no I feel really bad. I've been hiding from this thread as everyone is getting on with the swap really fast and I have yet to start! But don't worry partner, my exams finish Wednesday and I'll be home Thursday and as long as I don't spend too much time with my horse to make up for lost time I should start then! I'm still unsure about what to make! I have so many designs spinning around in my head but I've narrowed it down now. I'm looking forward to getting started!  Grin Grin (At last)
8  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / Charms for Loaded Charm Bracelet on: June 12, 2010 09:50:25 AM
Hi,

I've wanted to make a loaded charm bracelet for a while but I'm unsure as to what charms to use. The Tibetan Silver ones are cheap (like 20p a charm) and there's quite a few I like but I'm unsure whether they are ok to use and if they will be good enough quality. The sterling silver ones are lovely and I've found a website with literally thousands but even the cheapest ones are about 5 and that will all add up. I'm a student so unfotunatley I don't have enough money for craft. Any suggestions about what to use? Also can you suggest some good UK beading sites especially with a good selection of charms (I like weird ones).

Thanks in advance.

Wow, everyone seems to be working so fast. I've finally decided what to make but not the design. I'm in the middle of my exams at the mo so I can't start until they are finished and I'm back at room near the end of the month. Oh dear I might be the last to send. Don't worry Bex it will be there before the deadline!! I'll just work fast once I'm home. Thank goodness its only a tiny thing to make  Tongue
10  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / Re: The random RESIN question thread! on: June 08, 2010 10:42:00 AM
Thank you so much for all your help! One question how do you seal the fabrics? Might be stupid but I just wanted to check.  Oh and also what resin do you suggest I use? Ok so not really one question. Thanks again Smiley
