You did a fantastic job!  I really like your sweater.  I appreciate the pattern, too!

3  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing in General: Discussion and Questions / I think I may have the dumbest noob question EVER on: January 14, 2010 09:03:16 AM
Hello, all!

I just got my sewing machine last night and had fun with some scraps I had around
(made a little pillow! Smiley)..., but I was just kind of free-handing it, as I don't have any straight pins.

Now, I am going to go pick some up, but my question is:

Is there a "way" to sew over the pins?  I am scared I will bust my needle or hurt my machine sewing over the pins in the fabric!  I thought I had seen other people (TV) sewing over pins.  Or, am I mistaken, and you take the pins out before you sew?

Thank you in advance for your response!

What a nice job.  My three year old is sitting here with me, and she is saying "oooooh"!  I like that you used christmas lights on it, and I love the little guy shoveling!

What a great house!  I especially like the use of the caramels and the peppermint stick pillars holding up the porch!

I like the candy coated globe and I think using those pretzels for the windows was very smart!  Nice job!

I love autumn, and I love how you portrayed it!  The partially barren trees are great, as well as the garden which looks ready for harvest!  Nice work!

Love the gumdrop path and the roof patterns!  The icing is very painstakingly perfect! Nice work!

Another fan of the wood pile and lean to here!!  I think you did great!  I like the ski hill, and I love that you had a "theme" or "concept in mind.  It appeals to me, too, the idea of being able to watch the olympics from your window!  I get an image of DH and I in turtle neck cable knit sweaters sipping from mugs and peering out our windows...

Yes I have an imagination! LOL!!!

Great job!
