1  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / Re: .cjb name as a domain? on: May 13, 2005 10:22:42 AM
I used to use .cjb.net when I first learned how to make websites, My personal opinion on them is that their a hassle and buying a domain name is better than using the free types. They can be really confusing when you try to click on a link. I can't really explain it but the domain name like follows you or something.

Hmm how do I explain it,
lets say you have a website, and a links section...your website is www.whatever.cjb.net. When I click on one of the links instead of it being their domain name sometimes its www.whatever.cjb.net and it can get really confusing.

So, for less confusion and more professionalism would choose a paid domain name.

4  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / Business plans on: May 07, 2005 08:19:55 PM
Hello everyone,
I was just curious as to how many of you have made business plans? Do you believe it is a benefit to your business? What did you include in your plan? Would you recommend making one to new business owners?

Thanks for all the help

Wow I'm getting tons of great advice from everyone, thank you! I am going to try out different styles and see what I like best. Also thanks for the advice on the boarders...I never really thought about that. And as far as size goes this is just something I whipped up to be able to show an example Smiley

Thanks everyone for all of your great advice, as of right now my card psd is stuck on my DEAD computer but after I get the hard drive out of it I'll be able to fix it up. I think I am going to go with the vertical card, like you said it is unique and I am going to switch around the arial bold font to something more curvey!

As for printings I'm going to stick to a local business, but thank you all for sharing your advice on that subject.

8  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / Re: domain name and web hosting? advice please! on: April 30, 2005 01:14:13 PM
For anyone who is still shopping around for webhosting I'd like to recommend dreamhost
http://www.dreamhost.com
The packages come with loads of space and bandwidth {plus a free domain name} but I didn't use the domain name because I've heard horror stories so I signed up for the space and got my domain name from
http://www.godaddy.com

Both are good services

I would move the Website and Email info under your bunny...Technically, you don't need to put both the web addy and the email address on your business card, unless customers can't email you from your website, or you email address is not listed on your website.

Maybe something like this...

Thank you so much! Thats perfect Cheesy
