1  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / "Hands On" Mother's Day Gift on: May 08, 2010 07:31:08 PM
Hello everyone--I have put together yet another bag. It seems as though that is the only thing I have any success with. This one is for my mom for mother's day. My little girls handprints are appliqued on the front.

Yes it came that way...I got about six yards of it..Now i need to find something else to do with it! The best part of the estate sale--I got two yards or VINTAGE strawberry shortcake. I haven't had the heart to cut into it yet~

I hit the mother load at an estate sale awhile back ago on some vintage fabrics and just got around to putting something together with it. Found this tutorial online and started sewing. What do you think?

4  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Little Pet Shop Playmat on: April 30, 2010 06:45:32 PM
My little girl has a fascination with the Littlest Pet Shop figurines. She constantly plays with them sitting at her little table, but I wanted to make her something a little more fun and easy to use. So I put together this little playmat for her. Lots of scrap fabric, some felt, and a piece of prequilted fabric for the back. She tried it out this evening and sat still for 45 minutes! She's three so thats like a marathon in this house.

It has a road, house, zoo, flower garden, pond, and a tree. My favorite is the zoo.

Is there a pattern or tutorial for these somewhere? My daughter just saw this one and LOVES it. She is a fan of Weebles and called yours a squishy weeble.
6  COOKING / Dessert / Mountain Dew--in cake form--for my husband! on: April 19, 2010 02:25:18 PM
Okay--so two weeks ago I asked my three year old daughter what kind of birthday party we needed to have for her daddy... Off the wall she tells me we should have a mountain dew party (dont know where that came from) He drinks it all the time! So I thought Id go all "Ace of cakes" and try my hand at cake decorating instead of sewing. I think Ill stick to sewing! Here is his cake--in all of its un-glory!

And just for fun--a picture of my 31 year old husband acting like a three year old!

7  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Bag for my momma! Courtesy of me and my late grandmother on: April 04, 2010 07:17:19 PM
My grandmother passed away in November this past year and my mom has had a hard time dealing with it. She kept a few of my grandmothers shirts but didnt want to wear them--so she gave them to me...and I turned them into this bag... Its not perfect but my mom really likes it. It still has pins in it in the picture--but I have since taken those out and stitched around the top.

8  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Flowery Goodness--FINALLY! on: April 02, 2010 04:42:26 PM
I finally braved up enough to try out a pattern for a halter dress for little girl today and it turned out rather nicely. I used Simplicity 6908 for this one.

Comments and criticism are welcome!

9  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Scrappy Little Dress on: March 28, 2010 08:16:52 AM
I love everything I see on this board but can't seem to figure it out! Ive tried patterns and they turn out awful so I thought I would give it a go on my own.

I have lots of beautiful fabric but Im afraid of messing it up so I tried this one with scraps. It turned out okay but Im still not satisfied.

The little girl likes it though.
