thank you  Grin

the polka dots totally chose me, I have to say, and my five year old neice picked out the flowery one, (as well as putting in an order for a new school dress - uniform means nothing to her, lol!)

I eyeball things, cos then I can kinda fudge them as I go along, patterns and me always end in disaster. Always. There's never a happy ending...

So, I've not been about in a while, life appears to have thrown an entire lifetime's worth of crap (for about 10 people!) at me, and things have been tough, but I'm slowly on the mend. I've been out of hospital (hopefully for good) for about six weeks now, and am getting ready to start back at work.

My concentration is still shot to pieces, but I am slowly starting to get some of my crafting mojo back. Things are taking me about 10 times longer than usual, but I'm getting there, and I just wanted to share a few things I've knocked up on my beloved Esmeralda. Nothing special, so I've just lumped them all together in one post; hope that's OK Mods?

Polka dot dress (polka dot have become my new obsession - I even bought a blusher in a colour I didn't want the other day, because erm...the tube matched my new dress  Roll Eyes )

No real pattern, I just kinda made it up as I went along; like I say, rubbish concentration

Flowery dress with pink darts/bust. I saw a pic of something similar on the internet, and just kinda eyeballed this as I went along:

Skirt using the same polka dot material, with white piping detail. You can't see on the pic, but I managed to find fab matching buttons, and it also has a jewel heart detail button:

Top, using an old purple top I had, and a skull and crossbones scarf that was on clearance in primani, so it was basically free (yes, I am that cheap  Grin), but the purples matched identically, and I love skull & crossbones! I accidentally cut the bottom off both the front and the back (see, no concentration!), so i took the opportunity to put a dart in the back, to give it a bit better shaping. I basically just cut the arms off and re-hemmed around, and cut a section off the neck to make it a gathered bust thingy:

Like I say, nothing special, but it feels good to be getting back into it again, albeit slowly.

Thanks for looking

xx

Hi guys,

I just wanted to post and say hi - life threw me a belter last year, and as such, all crafting went completely out of the window, meaning I catastrophically failed on my 50 for last year.

I'm still quite poorly, so I don't think I'm up to joining in the CAL this year - this is the first time I've even logged in for a couple of months I think, but I just wanted to post to say hello, congrats to all of those that hit last year's targets (OMG Always - 150?!?!), and that there are some lovely things on here already.

I'm not back into crafting yet - have lost all my oomph, but am taking at a day at a time, and will probably be lurking on here to try and get some of my inspiration back.

Lozzie

Omg!!  Love the Halloween decor! And waggons-jus remember you've already hit your 50, so you know you can do it!
Thanksgiving sounds cool, although I totally get the whole mental holiday thing. Over here Christmas trees were up at the start of October, so it's not really too much difference in the ridiculously early stakes. Maybe it's just where I live, but people here get a bit crazy over eid vs christmas, so I think a non-religious Holiday sounds kinda cool.
I've just got home now, gonna have a shower, flob out in my jamas and look got some suitably poo-coloured wool to knock out a happy poo before bed (sounds so very wrong on so many levels, lol!!)

I saw this via the wonderful silvermoon, and just had to come and comment.
Bowzers!!!!! Seriously, that is so so cool! It just makes me wanna drop everything and start it right now!!!
What type of yarn did you use? May I ask?
Again-just amazing!!!!
