11  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: UK Swap (SIGNUP 03/05/10 -23/05/10 ; MAIL BY 27/06/10). on: May 23, 2010 10:34:24 AM
I was trying to find something witty about Stratford there but there is NOTHING else that ever happens there!

I'm excited about partners now - i'm so glad we will have low(er) postage for once. Is that a bit sad? :-D

I got home to find TWO! parcels waiting for me:-)

Thanks SevsOnlyGirl!

So I quickly tore into them...

Everything all nicely wrapped up - I@m getting very excited at this stage!

And despite having nothing to do with the swap, my loving BF decides he needs to eat all the sweets and get involved!

Quilling kit:
I've never tried quilling before so this will be exciting!

Cap'n Crunch! This was on my list and is a limited edition. I have two bowls for breakfast the next morning. I love it so much!

KoolAid sachets - these were on my list too. I found another sachet lurking in something after I took this photo. I'm going to try dying with some of these I think (and some I'll drink, of course!)

DR PEPPER LIP BALM!!!

I was so excited by this! I had some of this when I was about 16 and I lost it and was so gutted. Now, SevsOnlyGirl didn't know this but she got me some anyway! I squealed with joy when I saw this. Thank you!!! She also sent me two lip blams which she' made herself and some bits and pieces from the college where she works. Wonderful!

SevsOnlyGirl also made me this beautiful crocheted shawl (and it matches the colour of my duffle coat perfectly!)

and a gorgeous piece of embroidery based on  traditional Amish pattern.

I spent a month in Pennsylvania as part of a cross community programme when i was 15. I loved it there and so this reminds me of that lovely time. I think I will either frame it or make it the focal point of a new quilt or wall hanging. It's absolutely beautiful - thank you!

The other crafted item is a lovely teacup pin cushion.

Isn't it gorgeous? And so useful!

I also received some lovely magazines

(there's a great trifle recipe in one of them), some items for making jewelry , a microfibre cloth and loads and loads of sweets and snacks

  .
I'm totally addicted to the peanut butter pretzel sandwiches
.
 They are divine!

Also in the box was this lovely cruet set

and some handy items - I could've done with this tide-to-go on my holiday recently!

I tipped coffee all down my white tshirt on the first plane journey so had to spend the next 24 hours and 2 subsequent flights feeling slightly ashamed of myself and trying to cover it up. I am such a klutz!

And everything all together (without the Cap'n Crunch - I left that out by mistake!)

Thank you SevsOnlyGirls! I've been so lucky to have you as a partner and I absolutely love everything!

I'd be up for this too - how many of us are there from the UK?

Awww glad you liked it all SevsOnlyGirl! You nearly didn't get the bag Cheesy However, I did just buy a load of fabric on holiday instead of any souvenirs - about 8kg worth in fact! - so I'll be making myself a new bag out of that.

And now, to sleep - 36 hours of planes, cars, buses and waiting does not agree with my internal clock :-)

1st swap a success - hurrah!

Oh my gosh, i had planned to do XXXX last night and then it turned out the christening gown I made for my friends little girl didn't *quite* fit so I had to sit all night cutting it up and adding bits and sewing stuff on...I didn't get to bed til 1:30am and I had to get up at 6. I am SHATTERED and I have a pub quiz to go to tonight!  Tomorrow, tomorrow will be the day for crafting and finishing and all that jazz :-) I NEED to send by next Saturday at the latest because I'm off on hols then - hurrah!!
