2  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Re: How do you organize your craft supplies??? on: February 10, 2017 06:18:14 PM
I thought I didn't have much in the way of craft supplies because last year I donated a bunch of stuff at a school drive for school supplies for a First Nations elementary school up north. I gave tons of pencils, coloured pencils, markers, erasers, glue, paints, brushes, notebooks, construction paper, etc.
But it seems I still have plenty of stuff! I have stuff in my SIL's attic and stuff at my sister's. Almost all my sewing stuff is in her sewing room - except for my machine, a project I'm currently working on, and my 2 sewing boxes. My other crafting stuff is all over my room: under my desk, spilling out of the closet, under the bed, and in the recycled bags from the Metro. Today I was looking for something and came across a couple of little boxes of odds and ends that I had completely forgot about until I opened them.  doh!

Right now my organization of supplies consists of putting like stuff with like stuff: cardstock in expandable files, scrapbooking paper in a scrapbook paper box (only 1 so far!), little odds and ends (jingle bells, dice, found game tokens, etc) in boxes I've come across (cigar boxes, clear plastic boxes that chocolates came in - Ferrero Roche?, etc).
However, I've realized that mostly I'm just "churining" all my supplies. I'm not using any of them - I just keep redistributing them to differnt boxes, packing them in the Metro bags and resettling them around my room.

Since I started a new project today it looks like a bomb has gone off in my room and further reorganizing will have to wait until I get it done! LOL

I tried making some ATCs. However, this was before learning about masterboards.
Mine are just watercolour paint, marker, ribbon and stickers on cheap watercolour paper:

So - one of my resolutions for this year was to do more crafts.
However, another was to read more books. So far I'm reading more than crafting!

I made fabric envelopes for about 10 or so of my flat crystal and porcelain Christmas ornaments:

and I tried some basic ATC cards:

this one is my fave: silk ribbon embroidery and backstitch on linen. (the shiny part is double sided tape that was holding it in place).
