2  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Any ideas on how to turn a child's pattern to fit an adult? on: May 03, 2010 06:40:34 PM
I'm a beginner sewer, and I fell in LOVE with this:

But I can't seem to find anything in adult sizes that would match it. Any ideas?
3  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions / Painting Fabric? on: April 21, 2010 07:14:12 AM
So, I'm on this, make my dull bags prettier kick. The problem is, I want to create custom painted shopping bags out of those reusable bags you get for a buck. My usual technique of just spraying matte finisher on fabric isn't working on these bags. Anyone have any clue on how I should paint them?

Don't want to go to a life drawing workshop? Okay. Fine. Stay home. Don't want to deal with anything and just want to relax?  Awesome. Can't find your camera? Use your cellphone.

So this is what procrastination gets you:

5  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Question on Cottons... on: January 31, 2010 07:19:25 AM
I'm looking for some cute cotton prints to use for clothes. When looking under "apparel" fabric there aren't many cute prints, but under the quilting sections, there are so many that I just have to have. But my question is- can I used these for clothes?
6  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / What is Sweatsuit fabric called? on: January 30, 2010 04:51:14 PM
Just as the title says, What's the fabric used in sweatsuits called?
7  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Collage Sketch Book[img heavy!] on: January 23, 2010 04:46:20 PM
So I decided that I'm going to do a full sketchbook of collages. I'm going to aim for one a day... but being a busy art student, I doubt that's going to happen!

But here's my first two:

8  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Learning to sew clothes? on: January 13, 2010 07:01:42 AM
I want to learn how to sew clothes. Like really badly. But I've just started sewing. (I've mostly made fleece hats, and one bag) I was thinking of starting with children's clothes (smaller garments, smaller learning cost?) but I'd have to find a child to sew for, lol.

I've never sewn with a pattern, and I can't find lessons. Help?
9  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Dino Hat help and Q's on: January 09, 2010 08:59:38 AM
Hi!

This is my first "official" post to craftster. I made a dino hat for a neighbor, and then his younger brother wanted one... so I made this one. But I was wondering, how would I add a lining to this hat? It's fairly simple, four pieces stitched together. the brim is just the edges which I just pulled up and stitched.

Here's some pictures:
