4  HOME SWEET HOME / Pet-Related Crafts: Discussion and Questions / Re: Need help making dog car seat on: May 05, 2010 08:45:58 AM
From a fellow small breed owner, I'd be afraid to put my dog in a homemade car seat. Part of the reason they cost so much is because they are tested in crashes. My Moxii and Luca used to just sit in the back seat while I was driving. I got into a car accident, and Luca broke his leg. Now they both sit in the trunk of my car (a honda cr-v) where I had a metal fabricator friend bolt a dog crate to the floor. It saves them from being tossed around too much. Seat belts and carseats are cool and cute, but really, the best place to put your dog is in a crate in the back seat, preferably strapped into something. They should never travel up front, because of the air bags.
5  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Re: Passport covers on: May 05, 2010 08:30:49 AM
Those are really cute! Although, went I went from NYC to Hong Kong, they took away my passport cover. Said I covered the chip that are in the newer ones, and it is not allowed. Maybe I got a cranky customs officer?
6  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Re: Any ideas on how to turn a child's pattern to fit an adult? on: May 04, 2010 09:04:42 AM
I have no experience drafting clothing patterns. I think I'll go to Jo-ann's this weekend to see if any adult patterns having something i can modify. Thanks!
7  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Any ideas on how to turn a child's pattern to fit an adult? on: May 03, 2010 06:40:34 PM
I'm a beginner sewer, and I fell in LOVE with this:

But I can't seem to find anything in adult sizes that would match it. Any ideas?

9  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions / Painting Fabric? on: April 21, 2010 07:14:12 AM
So, I'm on this, make my dull bags prettier kick. The problem is, I want to create custom painted shopping bags out of those reusable bags you get for a buck. My usual technique of just spraying matte finisher on fabric isn't working on these bags. Anyone have any clue on how I should paint them?

I have been against Japanese animation for the longest time. (But again, I've only been exposed to Yugi-oh!, Poke'mon, and a few other shows) Discovering Ghibli and Miyazaki made me have faith in it and I'm seriously looking into all of his work.

The painting has been covered in acrylic gloss cover.
