1  Re: Make a Purse & Fill It Swap (Round 6) Gallery in The Swap Gallery by Lindag35 on: March 04, 2011 05:23:35 PM
I got my package in the mail on Thursday, and was so excited! She made me a blossom bag!!! I REALLY wanted one, so I was ecstatic when I saw that's what my awesome partner decided to make. It's the prettiest shades of teals and blues. Which are my favorite colors...and black too, which she used for the lining! So clever....usually I have a plain black purse and never buy anything with a nice bold color. So this is just the best fabrics she could've picked.

Here it is:

all the organizational pockets!!

a group shot of all the extras inside:

When I saw what you sent, I was thrilled! I sent you the exact same thing!! One of them anyway...but I'm not gonna ruin the surprise and say which item Wink

and finally a CUTE, cute charm bracelet (my fave piece of jewelry to wear) with a seaside theme and a cool box made with elephant poo poo paper! Never heard of it before, but my kids LOVED it.....so funny. Thanks so much Smiley

Larissa Rasputin, you did an amazing job! She told me it was her first time sewing a purse! I never in my life would've even attempted a pattern like this for my first. I made a tote bag!! I really love it. And you didn't have to send me the entire pack of tissues, but thanks so much! I have a chronic sinus problem so they definitely will be put to good use!

I love the material you chose for the card holder, key chain and tissue holder. I really hope you like what I made you half as much as I love mine...then I can be happy Smiley Thanks so much for being such a great and thoughtful partner!

2  Re: Keep Me Warm Swap Gallery!!! in The Swap Gallery by Lindag35 on: January 29, 2011 06:46:36 PM
I first want to apologize to Stacysews for being so neurotic today! But it was HORRIBLE! My kids messed up my computer and I was worried I wasn't going to get all the awesome pics of what I received from her on here today...but I am right now Smiley

She made me an awesome cup wrap for a reuseable coffee cup that came with one of it's own. But I like the one she made way better. (Thanks for the cup! I have been wanting one, but never bought one.) It is too cute! All my favorite things, pink and chocolate...and I love the button too, reminds me of hard candy. And she used a grippy material on the backside to keep it in place. How cool is that?

I also received some soft striped socks, with pink and grey....can never have enough pink....and some gloves one solid pink, one with stripes.

And for the best part, some fingerless gloves with a matching infinity scarf! I have already gotten a ton of compliments on them, they are just unbelievable. She made them with a sweater material in ivory, which is also a fave of mine, but it has gold threads running thru it! So it has some sparkle. Very pretty! And the fingerless gloves fit, well, like a glove! (ha, ha) I really needed a pair to keep me warm when I'm crafting in my finished, but cold basement craft room. Thanks so much, you were a fantastic partner.

Oh, and I did still have about 3/4 of the bag of coffee still inside the bag, so I did get some! Oh, yeah, and so everyone knows the coffee is Hazelnut, and smells heavenly Smiley She also sent quite a few packs of hot chocolate in French Vanilla and Chocolate Mint, which I never listed as a fave flavor and it's one of my all time fave's, and two chicken ramen soups! She covered it ALL!

One more thing, the infinity scarf is very warm and toasty. Since I started wearing it, I can't go out without it, I get too cold. I love all of it.

4  Needlesculpted Newborn Baby Doll in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by Lindag35 on: July 16, 2010 01:39:23 PM
I bought this pattern awhile back and finally got around to making one. She has a bellybutton, an outie, a butt, dimples in her hands and knees and elbows, toes and fingers. She was easy to make and I think this is gonna be my new addiction for awhile!

Preemie baby clothes fit her, but in the pics shes wearing an altered onsie. It was 0-3 months when I started out. Newborn baby socks fit her, and hats will with some altering. The pattern came with directions on altering the onsie...which is also super easy to do.

I can see the stitches on her nose so I need to work on that, but all in all it was a very fun project and I already have my sis and mom and of course my kids wanting one. What do u guys think?? Any ideas suggestions would be awesome!!

How I can I make her smell like baby powder?

Alchemy513 and I did a personal swap.... I offered to make her a Steampunk Zombie poppet cuz she wanted a poppet and said she doesn't sew...and I can't crochet AT ALL....so here is the awesome stuff she sent me...minus a very cool sea life necklace I can't find right now....I think my daughter took it..LOL

Group shot!! Of course without the necklace which I will reclaim and post...Check out my cute squid! And cupcake purse! And POPPET WIG!!

He's so cool and BIG...love the colors! My oldest daughter has one just like it wisted so I have to guard him with my LIFE!

Cute drawstring cupcake purse for my 5 yr old Alyssa...it's the perfect size for her...even though i thought it was kinda small....it's really not!! She takes it everywhere...thanks!!

And here's the poppet wig. I gotta learn to crochet! My squid is wearing it because I have no bald poppets here...it is large on him, but you get the idea. Thanks so much for being such a great swap partner and for all the things you made us! We appreciate it!!

7  Steampunk Zombie Poppet in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by Lindag35 on: June 21, 2010 03:46:23 PM
Here's a poppet I made for a personal swap for Alchamy513. She said she wanted a zombie or something steampunk, so I decided to do both. I didn't take too many photos before I sent her....too excited to see what Alchamy513 would have to say. On her belt that you can't see in the pics, it has gears on it. I also didn't take any without the aviator cap and goggles on, but she has stitches on her forehead kinda hidden byher hair that have some blood dripping. Anyway...here she is. I like how she turned out....hope u do too!

I finally feel that with this poppet and the one I made Silverwing for the mini poppet swap came out just like I saw them in my head. Figured out the eyes and how to make the noses with clay.

I received my incredibly cute poppet girl from SilverWing today!!! Thanks a bunch I LOVE her soooo much!! Don't wanna say too much and give away the pics...so here she is in all her glory....

Sitting here with the mushrooms she told me she feels right at home...

On her travels she met mermaids, and wanted to see where they lived so she magic-ed herself THIS:

The shells are real and fit her like a glove!! Love it....so creative!! And I just LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the tail...so pretty and shiny in the best shade of green...not to mention silky!! I had wanted a mermaid and this is so much better since I can remove it and make her into a fairy too....just AWESOME!

She used my fave colors in her first outfit and in this super cute dress that I have to learn how to sew! And I tried to get a good pic of her ear clip...and did I mention her awesome wrapped hair? Filled with cute charms...

I forgot to put her crown on for her first pic, but she refused to put it on...so I gently coaxed her into wearing it for the above pic....

Hers an eye close-up....yours turned out very well...mine, not so much!!

Very pretty with coppery flecks in them...she also sent me a cute letter telling me all about her...except she didn't disclose her name to SilverWing or me yet....

OH! Almost forgot the cool clay necklace she made me too!!

My grabby five yr old daughter was telling me it was hers...that it won't fit me! Nice try Alyssa!!

Thanks again for everything...she is awesome and has already made friends with the other 3 poppets I have! Love the necklace too and it does fit me perfectly!! Hope your arrives soon, and you love your new addition too!

9  Re: The Ongoing Poppet-Along in Craftalongs by Lindag35 on: May 26, 2010 07:39:28 PM
First, I have to thank clonedbravo for the tute on her pantaloons!! Made some and they are too too cute. Not as good as the ones you made me...but close.

Here is my poppet, the only one I have made for myself. All the others have been for swaps...or my kids.  Grin

I found out the hard way NOT to use a fat sharpie to make a mole...it became HUGE after bleeding into the fabric...so I made a black heart felt 'tattoo' for her instead.

Here are some outfits I made for her...

Her short jean skirt has silver snaps..it's a wrap around...and her vest is made from an old sweatshirt. In the first pic her jacket is satin with a zebra grosgrain ribbon trim..

the above dress is satin made from one of ghilies patterns/tutes

and this last one is a short tutu skirt made from a handkerchief from wal-mart...cost $1, and some cheap purple tulle...should've had her standing so you could see. And a matching corset top with acid green ribbon. I put different colored strands of dmc floss in her hair for the 'punk' look. You don't get to see too many in the pics...but there's purple, hot pink, blue, lime and orange...and red. You can't tell because of the dark background, but she has black wavy hair pulled into two big ponytails that are high up on her head.. I also made her a matching choker outta the same zebra ribbon and used a ribbon slide for a buckle. It velcros on...

My chapstick cozy...

I was hoping to get one of these...but this one rocks!! It holds 2!!

My tissues and her "mess-ups"...thanks for including them....love pouches!!

My cute card...

and a group shot of all the goodies...

Love all of it. 4 chapsticks...tissue s....awesome notebooks!! She sent me two glitter pens and a pop up hairbrush...I needed that too!! My hair is super long and always getting tangled...and it all matches the fabrics....which is the best part. I love the fabrics you used so much...Already putting my wallet inside and ready to use...hope you like yours as much as I love mine!! Grin
