581  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: Shimmer on: May 10, 2005 05:20:29 AM
it's nice to have some feedback on that pattern I've been eyeing for ages, and apparently not very many people actually got to knit it...
Sorry to hear about the back "flare"... but hehe !!!  :that's why I've printed your beautifull lace panel shrug !!!! Thanks again!

582  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: wee little kid knits.... on: May 10, 2005 05:06:22 AM
I was just going to ask.. I'd love a pattern !!! I can already picture my little girl in one of those, PLUS what a fabulous way to use all these "can't afford to buy more but it's so gorgeous I have to buy one ball" yarns ...!!
It's really lovely ... and nicely worn !!!
583  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: yes I've been working too-- smile. on: May 10, 2005 01:27:09 AM
I love the first one, the idea for the collar is great, and very original ! Nice job !!!
584  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: Shrug! My first wearable design on: May 10, 2005 01:03:24 AM
Now this is so great !!!! It's exactly what I've been looking for, and I couldn't find !! I was going to try and design myown  lacy  shrug but I'm definitivly going to use your pattern now !! Thanks so much for sharing.
I'll try and let you know how it went when I get around to knit it (but so many projects on my list already, and not even for me !)
585  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: 1st Post! Bunnies, Scarves, Baby Booties! Yarn for trade! PICS! on: May 07, 2005 10:54:54 PM
I love your wristwarmers, and the baby booties are super cute (I love that pattern, but it's probably the only pattern I would really make in the book, so I haven't decided on buying the book yet  Undecided )

I'd love to make a swap for your yarn, but I live in France, probably would cost too much in postage, what do you think ?
586  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Re: 1 Skein Projects on: May 07, 2005 07:08:40 AM
That tote is adorable! I'd never seen that pattern before!

I know, I just found out about it myself, and I thought I had to share !!!!
587  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Re: 1 Skein Projects on: May 07, 2005 05:42:02 AM
I'm just finishing one "little txtured tote" http://www.joann.com/content/projects/projectsDisplay.jhtml?articlePath=%2Fcontent%2Fprojects%2Fstatic%2Fnew%2Flittle_textured_tote.jhtml&CATID=25293, it took just a little over a skein (but I guess it will depend on what kind of yarn you use),
I think it could be a very cute leftover project, with panels of different colors, or sidejoining in sc in a different color. I love the result, and I think I'll do it again !!
588  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: The SnB from Hell on: May 06, 2005 11:06:12 AM
Now this is inspirational !!!!

Since the birth of my baby girl last summer I've been taking up knitting again, and I dream of holding meetings with fellow knitters. I've always loved hanging out with old people too, so I guess I HAVE TO keep that idea in a corner of my mind for as soon as  I have a little more free time, ... probably some years from now.
Thanks so much for your story, it made my day, ... and please keep us posted on your group's adventures in knitting.. and more !!!
589  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: For those of you reading french : free patterns sites !! on: May 06, 2005 10:52:30 AM
hey, thanks so much for all this!!
i'm an intermediate french student about to embark on this azmazing phildar sweater...in french only!!

Come on, tell us killerdaisy, which one are you going to knit ?!! I'm so curious ! And please feel free to ask if you have any questions!

Thanks for all the resources, Prunille! I hope to be studying in Paris for a semester next year, and I'm beginning to wonder how I will satisfy my craving to knit... I haven't found too much on the internet about knitting in France so far, but I will keep looking Smiley
Hi littleweasel, hope your project will work out. If you're in paris, there are probably lots of yarn and craft shops, phildar, monoprix (love their "miss helen" yarns, cheap and interesting to work with), any blat & bouton d'or, and also LA Droguerie which apprently carries lots of interesting yarn and brands...
Knitting hasn't made such a comeback in France yet, but in different blogs I hear about "caf-tricot", which would be the equivalent of stitch'n bitchs I guess... As for websites, I think lots of french knitters just go on crafster, knitty ect.. How could there ever be an equivalent in french ? (there are some forums in french, but aren't very "hip"..!)
I'd suggest try searching for blogs about tricot, there are tons ! And feel free to ask if you're looking for anything in particular...

Allez... bon tricot !!
590  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: draped bed jacket -sort of- w link to pattern on: May 05, 2005 11:01:03 AM
Whaw, suz anne, this is really beautifull, congratulations on how that turned out !!! I also love your fingerless gloves in your gallery, that's the crocheted ones I ever found nice ..!
Thanks so much for sharing, both the web pattern, AND your alterations. I would certainly love to make one bed jacket like yours as well, but I have so many projects on my list already.. NOw, as for the fingerless.. they'll be a much quicker project, so Maybeee ! Oh, I'd so love to..
