571  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: rejected SnB projects, post yours here! on: May 17, 2005 07:00:20 AM
That's also what I said to myself, would soo love to see all the other rejected projects.. (accepted ones we'll see later ...in the book!!)

Anyhow, here's mine.

At the time of submition, I had finished only the adult maryjane, and shortly after I finished the baby ones.
I still haven't decided, maybe I'll submit one of them to Crochet Me.

Hope other will show too, even with no access to pattern !!

..and btw, this debbie submition thing was great, that's the occasion I needed to learn at last to crochet. And it worked, I'm so happy now that I can look both at knit AND crochet patterns...  Smiley

Thanks, I really like that tote too, but like I said, it's crochet. I know, wrong place Wink, but I wanted to show all the stuff together... Anyhow, that pattern can be found here : http://www.joann.com/content/projects/projectsDisplay.jhtml;$sessionid$43METEIAAIPASP4SY5LRIHR50LD3UEPO?articlePath=%2Fcontent%2Fprojects%2Fstatic%2Fnew%2Flittle_textured_tote.jhtml&CATID=25293)
573  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: Projects from "Last Minute Knitted Gifts" on: May 17, 2005 06:02:38 AM
Well I just finished a pair of wristwarmers for my mom's birthday, and I'm hoping she'll use them either when she plays cards on the computer (!), or if/when she gets to play the piano again..
Anyway, here they are  (or at least one, the other hand was busy holding the camera...  Wink ):

I really tried to knit them in the round as instructed, but couldn't manage it with the circs I had, plus it made it so much harder to keep track of where I was pattern-wise, and I kept making mistakes, so I frogged it and just knit it plain flat, and it was soooo quick !! And you can't even really see the seam anyway, so it's all good !

I really love those wristwarmers, they're comfy and warm and super pretty... I'm definitively knitting some more for myself !!
574  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / I love small projects.. on: May 17, 2005 05:36:27 AM
... Because they are instant gratification, and they use up the odds and ends that are 90% of my (yet huuuge) stash... and because I don't get bored too !

So I've been busy with birthday presents lately, I made a victorian choker for a friend but still need to get a picture of it..

For now, here are pics of little things I made for my mum's 60th bday

In a Little textured tote (sorry, it's crochet..)
I put a pair of fingerless gloves from Last minute gifts (knit flat though, as I don't have short enough circs) and an knit variation of the comfort pack from Crochet me (the red thingy)... That one didn't turn out as nice as I hoped though, and I didn't have the time to frog and redo it... The idea is great though (pack filled with flax seeds to heat in microwave), I'll certainly do it again

And while I'm at it, a couple other fos:
Some of my latest knits for my baby girl

It doesn't show too well, but all the buttons are recycled vintage buttons, ...cheap, and unique !!

And a couple sunglasses pouches I freehanded (oops again, the blue one is crochet... I just learned crochet and I love it, ... but for most things, incl. clothing, you still can't beat knitting !!!)

575  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: DIY circular needles from dowels w/pics and tutorial on: May 17, 2005 02:35:20 AM
So cool ! I need to make some, as I've tried to knit my fingerless gloves from LMKG with my regular circulars, but they were way to long, and I can't find shorter ones... So, ...I'm gonna make my own, right ?!! (plus I'm cheap, AND it's always so much fun to make your own stuff !!)

Thanks for the tut, crafster rocks ! ..

They are cute, and they will probably will get a lot worn, as they seem very practical and soft on a baby's skin.
