I am so happy with my newest girl's cardigan ! Ages ago, one of the first garment I freehand-designed for my older daughter was a little top down vest (which I called Roselette) and ever since I wanted to make a cardigan version...
Then 2 years ago I made a cotton blend version for my niece, who lives in a warm island. Except, ahem... this one still sits in my office !! (I was keeping it handy to be able to write down notes..) and now I wonder if it will still fit my niece !!!
Anyhow. Suddenly in september I opened up my treasure chest ( = huge plastic boxes storing yarn stash) and found the perfect yarn just waiting to be turned into a cardigan: it was Cascade yarn's "Baby alpaga" in a rich purple color. Oh so soft. Yet a bit heavy for garments... but it works for small pieces such as kids garments.
Now I love to see both the vest and cardigan versions sitting side by side !! I had fun getting out of my comfort zone for this cardigan, and added flared lacy 3/4 sleeves.
And I LOVE how the lace section comes out... as one tester said, it's easy to make yet looks pretty enough to impress people !
... and guess what's on my hook now ? An adult version for me of course !!!! The perfect one also jumped at me from the same treasure chest, and I Soooooo can't wait to be finished (only need to finish sleeves before I can wear it, and already know it will be a favorite of mine this winter !)
I hope you'll like it :-)
