1  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: By Kids for Kids Holiday Swap Gallery! on: December 27, 2011 10:05:32 AM
We received the coolest package from kristl! Unfortunately, my computer died and with it all our pictures, including the pics of the stuff kristl sent. I do have one picture, but only because I sent it to family to show them to board game our youngest son wouldn't stop talking about  Cheesy

In addition to the game, our daughter got the most beautiful necklace, and she even sent me a gorgeous necklace with an awesome dragon pendant! I really wish I could post pics of those  Sad

But here's the game that's enthralled my four year old son. It's a Spongebob tic-tac-toe game, and the pictures can even be swapped out. Isn't it so cute??

Thank you, kristl, for everything! You guys made the kids very happy  Smiley

Our oldest son received his package from CraftNewb and her very awesome daughter, and he is so stoked on what he got!

Here's him showing off both items- a super rad steampunk box and an ornament that looks so good on our white tree (sorry for the bad pics, I can't get the hang of this camera):

A closeup of them:

Thank you again so much, this swap has been a lot of fun!

3  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: By Kids for Kids Holiday Swap (SU 10/3-10/21; Sendouts 12/3) on: December 03, 2011 01:31:08 PM
Sent both packages this morning. My kids also forgot that they'll be receiving packages  Cheesy
4  CLOTHING / Costumes: Completed Projects / Re: Nightsky Inspired Bellydancing Costume on: October 28, 2011 08:20:36 AM
That is gorgeous! It really looks amazing, so much better than most of the bellydance costumes out there that cost hundreds of dollars. *Rocks*

My kids love this, what a great idea!
6  KNITTING / Knitalongs / Re: Patchwork Sampler Blanket/Pillow Knitalong! on: February 23, 2011 07:08:07 PM
Yofi- I really like that twisted diagonal!

I'm almost finished with the enormous washcloth I'm making for someone. Less than 10 rows left! As soon as that's done I'm freed up to start on these squares.
7  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Mixed media art quilt/patchwork strip on: February 23, 2011 05:43:31 PM
I hope I put this in the right place  Smiley

I've recently become enamored with art quilts and knew I had found my new love when I saw Jude Hill's work on Spirit Cloth. This is my first go at anything like this. I started by choosing my fabrics (and being toile obsessed, it's toile-heavy), and then my colors. I love pink and dark grey together, and adore gold metallic thread, so those choices were easy.

I love mixed media, so couldn't just leave it at cloth and thread. There's also metal, paper (a bit from an 1880's edition of Paradise Lost. I collect them, so I've got tons), and a feather. I wanted a really raw, organic feeling to offset the fussiness of the toile, so I singed the edges of the strip and stopped myself from lining up my stitches perfectly (which I usually obsess over).

I'm not sure what I'm going to do with it yet, but thought I might eventually incorporate it into a larger piece.

Wow, everyone is doing such and awesome job and moving so quickly!

KLKing- you'll have a dozen of these blankets finished before I even finish one!  Cheesy
9  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Craftalongs / Re: 50 projects in 2011 on: February 17, 2011 09:17:37 PM
I haven't fallen off the face off the earth, really I haven't. February has been the toughest month we've been through in a while, with not only major illnesses but also some epic family trouble (like, disowning family kind of bad). But I've still been crafting, although at a much slower pace! Hopefully I'll have a finished project to show for it soon  Cheesy

J_Kieviet- I love that quilt, the colors are fantastic!

lafemmefatale- that Alice in Wonderland necklace is AMAZING!

Those look great, Belladune! I love that second one especially.
