The stocking is always my favorite part of Christmas morning too! For me, it's b/c we open our stockings, one by one, and see what everyone else got. It's also a precursor to opening up the big stuff, so the anticipation is there!
BTW...My husband is Jewish and so is his mom, but his dad was not, so they always celebrated Xmas and Hanukkah. I grew up Methodist (non practicing), but now I identify more with being Jewish. In our house we celebrate both holidays. Maybe your hubby could give you a stocking as a nod to your traditions.
Kudos to those of you that celebrate BIG for your significant others who didn't have birthdays or holidays growing up. I didn't either, and I tell you...that is really thoughtful of you to do that for the one you love. I'm sure he/she appreciates it a lot.
sezouli...I've swapped with partners that had dogs before. If you are able to keep what is coming here away from the dogs and if you could wash items that can be washed before you send it to me, I think that would be okay. No one's had a reaction so far, when that's been done.
BTW...that opener was my absolute favorite from the Office! I can't wait to buy season six on DVD!
Shhhhhh....don't tell anyone, but I'll let you in on a secret....hubby has a crochet Xmas stocking, and the darn thing S-T-R-E-T-C-H-E-S with anything that you put into it. (It's heck trying to fill it on Christmas Eve...just when I think I bought enough stuff for him...!)
I'll let you in on another secret....whoever I get as my partner I hope would like a crocheted stocking...I LOVE to crochet, and I LOVE to spoil!
I like the idea of using the different types of stitches in one scarf! It's really interesting! Mind PMing me with the names of the stitches you used? (I just bought yarn today to make a scarf for my childrens' babysitter, and would love to copy the scarf you made!)
