1  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: January, February, March 2015 Birthday Swap! Discussion and Gallery on: Today at 07:44:19 AM
Every photo I've posted recently has posted upside down, I'm sorry.

I received an extraordinary birthday package from calixita yesterday!

She sent me:

-Two postcards from where she lives...and even showed me where she works on one of them!  How cool is that, to have where you work on a postcard??
-A bottle of tiny origami stars!  I am amazed at anyone who can do these...my stubby fingers have trouble manipulating a paperclip! Roll Eyes Tongue
-A balloon birthday card!
-Two EXQUISITE bracelets!!!!!! Calixita, have you ever thought about selling your jewelry? I'm going to wear them this coming week to work to show off to everybody.  Cheesy

THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH!  IT'S ALL APPRECIATED VERY MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wouldn't ya know...the one swap where I've already asked to be partnered with someone, and signups end early!!!   Tongue  This never happens in swaps where who my partner will be is a mystery!

But I'm still happy...the organizer and my partner are the best!

steconi...I've been in a lot of swaps and the packages that I like the best are the ones that have the items made by a Craftster....not the ones with a ton of extras.  AIMR is right...we all have stores near us to buy those things ourselves, but only YOU can craft like YOU!

Thx, AIMR!  Grin
8  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Magic Yarn Ball Swap Round 17 Gallery (SO 2/23/2015) on: February 23, 2015 01:03:04 PM
I received today from smileyogini!  Grin  It was funny too...I went outside to check to see if the mailman had come yet, to see FIVE boxes for me and the mailman walking away.  I yelled out to him:  "Sorry about that!" and gestured with my hand towards all the boxes...he was a good sport.  Grin  Anyhow, onto the package for THIS swap:

This is the skeins of yarn for the pattern she chose for me, the pattern itself, and some AWESOME sea turtle notecards.  And of course, the MYB itself!  (Sorry for the upside down photo...oy.)

Here is what was in the MYB:

-a pin that says:  'Yes, I'm a real live crocheter.  No, you can't touch me.'  (that made me LOL)
-a butterfly light up thingy that my DD will love (her Bat Mitzvah theme in June is butterflies)
-a tin of Altoids (these will be going to DS, he loves them and we have a mint joke going on)
-a size J metal crochet hook with a clay handle (I've always wanted one of these!)
-a clay sea turtle!!!!!!  Shocked  As soon as he rolled out of the ball, I determined his name was Ted.  Don't ask me why.
-a small pink wooden box with a cute sea turtle painted on it (adorable)
-a small kit with rhinestones to decorate fingernails with (this will be going to my VERY girly younger DD)
-a reversible bumblebee/polka dot headband
-stitch markers
-row counter thingy
-a bumblebee themed pouch
-a clasp for a change purse (to go with the green yarn she said, to make a frog purse)  (don't worry, if you can't send me the pattern, my BFF LOVES that shade of green yarn, and I can use it for her)
-a white tote with sea turtles painted (?) on both sides (I just love totes!)
-a small roll of rainbow colored duck tape
-a package of travel tissues in a Hello Kitty theme
-a package of the smallest ladybug buttons I have ever seen!  Cool
-a skein of yarn in one of my favorite color combos:  pink/crme/tan
-a few skeins(?) of orange DMC floss
-a big green clay button (this will be used in a project for the aforementioned BFF)
-a tube of gold glitter
-two beautiful, abstract in nature, beaded pendants (I have the same findings you used to make them, and that is a brilliant use for them!  If you don't mind, I'm going to copy your idea at some point.)
-a FABULOUS bee themed with beads pocketbook-oy...I can't think of the word...you attach it to your pocketbook to add some spice to it b/c it's so cute...anyhow, it IS fabulous!

I hope I haven't left anything out, and thank you for the wonderful package, and thank you for organizing this swap!

kbrison, your package is now wrapped up and ready to go too!   Grin  (Will probably go out on Thursday when I get paid, along with Brianna B03's.)

I received my birthday package from BriannaB03 today!  Here it is:

(Errgh... another upside down photo...I'm sorry...)

Anyhow, what is in the photo is the envelope she sent the items in...she decorated it with a drawn on orange ribbon, a ladybug  Grin, words saying 'Happy Birthday'....it was nifty!  On top of the envelope is some of the birthday wrapping paper she used to wrap the gifts with (and it covered my address too).

She sent me a beautiful pink and grey infinity scarf!  I love it and will be wearing it this week!

She also sent me FOUR EXQUISITE stitchmarkers.....two with ladybug beads and two without.

THANK YOU SO MUCH THANK YOU SO MUCH THANK YOU SO MUCH

(Oy, upside down photo again, sorry...)

This is the great package I received from vixen72!

As you can see, there are two minions from the movie 'Despicable Me', two Minecraft cakes (You should try playing the game, vixen, it IS a lot of fun!  Cheesy), and a reeealllllyyyy long crocheted infinity scarf--so long it goes around my neck three times!   Cheesy  (I love the yarn you chose to make it with...I actually liked it so much that I made myself a scarf from it a long time ago, but not an infinity scarf.)  It's so soft and of course the colors are spot on!  Cheesy

Just an FYI for you, vixen, your package came to me open at the end where you are supposed to stick it together.  Maybe the weather weakened the stickiness?  Either way, you might want to tape the ends of your packages from now on.

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!
