131  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Warm Weather Suggestions? on: January 14, 2005 09:24:53 PM
I cannot wait to try my hand at knitting a bikini! I have waaaaay too many unfinished projects, and waaaaay to much yarn laying around right now, so when I finally get it all under control, I am going to reward myself by getting the stuff to make one! There is a pretty hot top in the knitty archive:

I want to do the "Anna" top! OOH! Ooh ooh! I just remembered something else I want to do! This:

I live in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, so maybe my dream that I will one day be able to wear knitted fishnet stockings and not catch hypothermia will never be realized.  Well, I hope you enjoy the pattern!

I knit stuff to keep my knitting stuff in. It is a vicious cycle! I keep my stuff in plastic bins, knitted bags, tote bags. . . the stuff that still doesn't have a home is strewn about my dorm room to remind me that it needs to be made into something sweet. My roomate hasn't said anything, but I think she maybe be planning an intervention for me. It's a disease, I tell you!

These are interesting to  look at, but, with the exception of the plastic fish holding sweater, they don't seem very practical to me.
134  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: arm warmers on: January 14, 2005 08:46:43 PM
Are you sure you don't want to knit in rounds? I am kind of in love with double pointed needles for stuff like mittens, gloves, leg warmers and-of course- arm warmers. Also, I have arm warmers on my "to crochet" list- I am planning on doing a popcorn stitch with a smallish hook- G, maybe. I'm just saying I really think it could be done with crochetting.
