Very cute! We are all Coroline fans in this house.  Grin How sweet of you to include the pattern, too!
12  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: Girls Croceted Ruffle Skirt on: February 04, 2010 06:35:31 PM
Aww...that skirt is so pretty! I really love the ruffle and the stripes.

I have always been a little afraid to make a skirt for my daughter because I worry about how it would stay up. I've thought about elastic, but I'm not good with sewing it in. How well does the drawstring hold it up?
13  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Ice-Cream Bunny Baby on: February 04, 2010 06:04:56 PM
I have something new to show you all!

She has been in progress for the last 5 days, 6 if you count the day of sketching. I really love her!

I'm not sure what flavor she is, just that she has a cherry on top of her head.  Grin Maybe Valentine's Day flavor?? Now I'm working on another flavor - chocolate chip with chocolate sauce and another cherry on top. I want to make lots of these bunnies in different flavors. This particular bunny is for (surprise, surprise) my daughter as a Valentine's gift. I think these bunnies would make good Easter gifts, too.

I hope you all enjoyed looking at my ice-cream bunny!!

17  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Toastee the Marshmallow on: January 31, 2010 07:41:51 AM
Introducing Toastee the Marshmallow:

I made him in September in preparation for my daughter's Christmas stocking, then I lost the pattern. As I was cleaning out my shelves and cabinets a few days ago, I stumbled across the pattern!

Toastee was my first exploration into making legs with feet. The technique I used to create his legs is the technique that I tweaked and adjusted to make Elyse's legs.

Toastee has a very simple face, which sort of makes me cringe.  Wink I plan on remaking him with a slightly different face, probably safety eyes and embroidery with floss instead of yarn. Right now his face is just felt and yarn embroidered cheeks.

I particularly like him when he's sitting. I remember having a giraffe doll who sat like this when I was little, so that was my inspiration for making Toastee sit with his legs so wide and floppy.

My daughter definitely liked him when she got her stocking. She is a big fan of hot cocoa, so her stocking included a mug, lots of different flavors of hot cocoa, marshmallows, chocolate chips, a spoon with marshmallow cream on it, and Toastee.  Grin

Thanks! She is about 9  inches tall. I thought she might turn out a little bigger from the pattern photos, but I used a smaller hook size, too.

I really like the colors you have chosen for yours (as I see them in your pic)! Your eyes look great, too.  Grin

I didn't have much trouble actually sewing the legs on, but it did take some time and lot of pinning to get them in the right position.
