11  Dont let me float away. in Needlework: Completed Projects by Amber Rose on: February 14, 2011 06:04:21 AM
I got this from my best friends beautiful art book she gave me and gave the sewing to her as part of pressent ♥ She loved it Smiley

She drew this while we were still in school and a lot of people had their opinions about what it ment. It is really up to you what you take from it.
(but i just want to point out that when a guy on the redbubble site got the meaning perfectly she was soooo happy that someone other than me finally got the true meaning Tongue)

12  Alice. My First Ever! in Needlework: Completed Projects by Amber Rose on: February 14, 2011 05:56:23 AM
This was my first time sewing. Only for my best friend in the whole world would I do this for ♥

She gave me a whole book of her beautiful drawings as part of my 17th birthday pressent (which I actually got to finally keep on my 18th birthday because she hadn't finished it ♥♥) hehe

So I decided for her 17th Birthday I would sew her favourite drawing of the time which was her Alice Smiley (She was going through an Alice in Wonderland/Stripey Sock stage lol)

After about 2weeks it was FINALLY done and I was soo excited to give it to her. She loved it ♥

The socks might look a little fluffy in the picture though...
When I gave it to her we were at school and everyone seemed to like the socks the best and for some reason really liked to run their fingers over it Tongue

This was originally suppose to be a practice just to see how it turned out. So the dress is purple instead of blue. The hair was deff the hardest/most time consuming part of this project

13  friendship bracelets in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by Amber Rose on: February 14, 2011 05:34:33 AM
OK.. so ive totally had this major obsession with friendship bracelets and i think ive finally started to get the hang of it Tongue

I just wanted to show you all what ive done lately but i have been selling these and ofcourse silly me didnt take photos of the others... but i thought id just show you the couple ive done since my last sale (It's also hard to build up a big collection when my boyfriend and his brother take every male looking one for themselve.. haha.
These cost me about $1 Australian to make... although they would cost less if I bought the big ball of thread.. I dont know why i havent...

I make them out of embroidery floss and am currently attempting to add beads to them (easier said than done)

PS sorry about the shocking pics Tongue

14  Arabian Princess in Costumes: Completed Projects by Amber Rose on: February 14, 2011 05:31:55 AM
Ok well I made this costume out of an Australian size 14/16 (which I picked up from a Salvos for $8) and me being a size eight it was rather big.
The pants came up to my armpits and the top went down to my knees... not very princess-y Tongue

So I used the back panel of the shirt to make my boobtube, I made the pants so they sat on my hips and so the crotch didn't go down to my knees and put elastic in the cuffs that were already at the bottom of the pants to make them all poofy. I sewed the arms of the shirt and the front panels to make the belt (you can see the breast pocket on the belt Tongue)
I added aluminium coins and beads to the bottom of the boobtube

HINT! If anyone tries this, attach the coins to the boobtube!! NOT THE ELASTIC! Hahaha I made the mistake and then when I tried the top on ALL of the coins & beads fell off...

Also, that's not me in the pictures, It's my boyfriend's 17year old brother! Hahah!
Cutie, isn't he Tongue (Yes he's straight) Cheesy  ♥♥
But he has a flatter stomach than me.. he thinks he has a six pac... more like a 3pac Tongue
ALSO don't be fooled by the second picture. His muscles are not that big Tongue

15  Sewn Cards!!! in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by Amber Rose on: February 14, 2011 04:53:28 AM
OK! I AM IN LOVE WITH THESE CARDS!!

The other day I was making a costume for my friends 18th birthday party (Arabian Princess) and I was at my parents house so I didnt have my sewing machine with me. My mum suggested I run across to the woman across the road and ask to borrow hers. When I got there she showed me the most amazing cards that she had sewn on. I was amazed!
The next day I went back and asked if she would make me a birthday card for my mate and she told me to sit down and make it myself.

This is what I ended up with!! It's soooo great xD It took me 3hours but I love it and I honestly dont think the picture does it justice. I almost kept it haha Tongue

Hope you like them!

16  Pikachu Hat!! with tutorial link! in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by Amber Rose on: February 14, 2011 03:16:37 AM
OK! well my friend had a Pokemon themed party for his 18th birthday (cool right?)

Soooo me not wanting to go all out on a costume choose the easy option and just made a hat! yay Smiley

I got the tut on how to do it from Secret Life of a Bio Nerd. She does this like video tuts for so many things on a site called thread banger (it's awesome)

http://www.threadbanger.com/secretlife/episode/SLB_20100715/how-to-make-a-cosplay-pikachu-beanie-hat-secretlifeofabionerd

The hat cost about $2 Australian to make and took me about 30min. So it's very simple. I did cheat a bit an not put in the lining... but i was only going to wear it that once so it didn't worry me and it turned out fine without it.
I hope you all try and attend some sort of Pokemon outting... It was such a great night!!

17  My first ever plushie! Deer! in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by Amber Rose on: February 14, 2011 02:37:17 AM
OK!!! haha this took a while.. and I think I may have sent like 50pictures to that gallery thing thinking it was how you posted things!!! (which for those who don't know.. it's not Tongue)

BUT YES! This is my FIRST EVER POST! thus automatically making it the most awesome Smiley
Well I just thought Id share my little plushy thing with you Smiley

She is a little deer that I had seen around EVERYWHERE and I think looks amazing ! But yea I got the tut from here >>

http://craftside.typepad.com/craftside/2010/06/how-to-make-a-retro-fawn-softie-from-the-new-book-palmsize-softies.html‏

The little bugga cost me about $1 to make (that's Australian dollars) But then because of the cheap fleece i think that's why you can see the stitching?? I swear my sewing machine doesn't usually sew like that!~!! Dx

It was a great tut but i would make a few changes like attaching the tail and ears before everthing is stuffed....
And also.. I would like to be amazing at hand sewing.. because i sort of FAIL at it  Tongue

OH!! and just a hint for those of you that do try this... that gaps that you leave to turn your deer to the right way out (eg the tail, ears and body) leave a little bit more room than it says... it is REALLY hard to turn it the right way out :S that was the most time consuming thing of this whole project!

But yes, I hope you all enjoy my first ever post & my first ever plushie!! Kiss Grin
