I have been making Easter cards lately and I made these two to put "Happy Easter" in the middle of them but am now thinking it may not go well.
What do you think??
The first one I think, If I made the flowers red would go well for Christmas.

4  MORE EASTER CARDS!!! in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by Amber Rose on: March 19, 2011 03:42:37 AM
Ok well these are some more sewn cards that i have made... they are sooo addictive..

It's strange that Ive taken up card making... I hate buying people cards because I know they'll just throw them away.. Also, I can only ever manage to put down the basic 'Happy (event of the day), Have a great Day, From Amber" ... So I'm not so great with words.

Sorry about the quality. The lighting wasn't great.

Hope you all like them!!

The Cross. I gave one like this for a baptism last week. but i think you could still use it for most christian/catholic etc holidays eg Easter

I like this one a lot. I think the sequins and beads on the egg add to it.

My favourite one so far (the bunny is throwing the eggs out of the basket!  Cheesy)

For the more religious type.

Just a couple more cards I did. Ive only done two... Rather slack I think.
Sorry about the second one. I haven't flattened them yet so I had to use my nailpolish to hold it down while I took the photo Tongue

6  Sewn Cards. Tut for transferring pattern to card. in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by Amber Rose on: February 22, 2011 05:43:28 AM
This is the kind of card you are doing:

http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=373369.0

Ok, so transferring a pattern to a card is very simple.
You will need;
♥ your card
♥ your pattern
♥ a sewing needle
♥ something soft to put underneath your card
♥ Paper clips

Ok so first if you don't have a card, you can easily make one from a piece card (you can use paper but card is better for when you're sewing your pattern)
Fold your A4 piece of card  into 3 sections. I have cut off some of the bottom because I though it looked a little too long

Then you take your pattern and put it onto the middle section of the card and secure it with the paper clips

Then you place your 'something soft' (Ive just used a folded tea towel, but you can use thick felt or anything else you think would work) underneath your card and use your needle to make the holes where the pattern says.
I just use a normal sewing needle but my neighbour uses one of those knife kits with all the different blades? she takes out the blades and replaces them with a needle. That way she has a handle (it does make it much easier) BUT for those who don't have a knife kit thing and don't want to buy one, I got a great tip to put the needle into a cork and to use that as a handle Cheesy All I need now is the cork Tongue

When you think you've finished, hold your card up to the light to make sure you haven't missed any holes. If you have just poke them Tongue

And all you need to do now is do your pattern! Cheesy easy-peasy
(Don't stress if you think you wont be able to do the pattern. When you get them from the site the come with very detailed instructions Smiley )

I thought I would add just one more thing.
When you sew your pattern, DO NOT TIE KNOTS AT THE BACK WITH THE THREAD. It's not quite the same as sewing. All you do instead is tape the piece of thread down with some tape (As shown). Also, the reason for the 3 sections instead of the normal 2 is so you can fold the extra one over the back of the sewing and stick it down with double sided tape. That way no one will ever know Tongue
