21  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / It's a Punk Rock Christmas!!! on: December 10, 2005 11:52:57 AM
At least that's the theme of the goodie bag that I want to put together for my good friend for Christmas. But I'm having a harder time then I thought with what to put it in.
For the most part it's mostly badges, stickers, a few pin up magnets I made, a t-shirt of one of his favorite bands, a custom stamp I had made for him that he can use to "sign" his paintings and a hard to find comic of his favorite artist that he had no clue existed. But I can't think of something unique to put it in. He's a tattoo artist so I was trying to think of something I could tie into that. Any ideas of containers or just any additional ideas period would be greatly appreciated.
22  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Discussion and Questions / Gift ideas.... on: November 28, 2005 12:51:03 PM
My sister wants to get into beading and making jewelry so I thought for Christmas I would hook her up with a bunch of materials. but since that seems to be the one craft I never got into I'm kind of clueless. What would be the basic tools and etc that are handy when starting out?

Also if anyone knows of any sites that have good bargins on their beads and what not's would be awesome!
23  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Discussion and Questions / Blurry lines and Burnt paper... on: October 20, 2005 05:46:54 AM
...That's what keeps happening when I try to do a heat transfer with my handy new versa tool, it's one of those deals that has tons of differnet attachments like a sodering iron, a hot knife and the like. Well I can't seem to use the heat transfer tool without either scorching my paper (and not in a good way) or if I do happen to get a image it's blurry. I thought it might be too hot but there's no temp control on it. Anyone have suggestions on how to get a clean transfer using one of these things?   Huh
24  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Discussion and Questions / Paid for Emroidery?!?!?! on: September 28, 2005 01:50:05 PM
So I have the opportunity to leave my boring office job as a full time cubicle whore,  to work for a screen printing/embroidery place where I would be a full time embriodery....um person. I'm supposed to go in for a day next week to learn the ropes and see if I like it. So, I  guess my question would be has anyone worked/work in such a place? If so can you offer any opinions as to how you liked it? I'm a wee bit nervous because working in an office is all I know! But getting paid to craft is too good to be true!!!!!! Any advice would be welcome.
25  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Poe Swap on: September 17, 2005 04:37:40 PM
No, not a swap for poor people with bad grammer.  Grin
An Edgar Allan Poe swap!!!  I'm sure there's been one on here before. But I couldn't find it when I searched. This might be the perfect opportunity for me to part with the Masque of Red Death shrine I made.

What do you think? Any takers?
26  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Discussion and Questions / Vinyl Rug?! on: May 23, 2005 11:09:36 AM
I'm trying to come up with a cheap rug for my craft room and was thinking about trying to make a "rug" out of vinyl flooring. I've never actually seen this done and don't know how to go about it. My idea was to take black and white checkered flooring remnant cut it into a large square or rectangle and then to cover the edges with a pink vinyl trim as well. Does anyone have any thoughts or ideas on how to go about doing this, or if it will even work?

Oh btw I"m new here so hello to all you crafty ladies and gents!!
