1  Dorothy in Halloween Costumes by natty1122 on: October 31, 2011 10:28:59 AM
This is my first Halloween costume entry so probably not as extravagant as other entries. I have to start somewhere so I wanted to post my first sewed costume.  I made the Dorothy dress out of a blue and white gingham size 18 skirt that I found at the Salvation Army for $2.  I gave it a top, a circle like skirt, and straps that crisscrossed in the back.  I kept the original buttons on the skirt to go down the back of the dress instead of a zipper or elastic.  I used left over scraps to cut and tie to ponytail rubber bands and another square to line her basket.  I took the shirt, socks, shoes, basket, and "Toto" (yes, it's a cat) from her closet and household items.  I unfortunately did not make the pettiskirt.  Thanks for looking

I'm sorry I couldn't post pics in this post because I haven't posted in Craftster enough.
