1  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Re: Anderson Cooper on: December 22, 2010 01:29:36 PM
hipmama1970 : Next up is an image of Nightwing, a character from DC Comics. His was the first comic I read regularly. Smiley

Haha, I don't know how many things I'll be able to think of. But it's not like I'm running out of time to think of them, at the rate I'm going. Wink

Thanks a bunch!

@Lylak Tigress - I chose Anderson Cooper because I'm starting to make a quilt; one that will probably take me twenty years, and that will have 100 squares like this. Each 100x100, and each with an interest of mine. Basically, what makes up who I am in a quilt. Why he was first, I don't know. I think partially because I knew if I could look at anything for as long as this took, it'd be Anderson's face. Wink He's my favorite broadcast journalist, and someone I look up to.

@SciFunk - There're 19 colors. Smiley

Wow! That looks so cool! I especially like the way the colors in the clouds look. Fabulous job!

Thank you all! Glad you guys like it. Smiley
And I'm with you on the love of Anderson Cooper. He's definitely my mancrush.

Thanks, guys. Smiley I enjoyed it, most of the time. When I was stitching row after row after row of dark brown, I hated myself a little, haha.

Awesome to see it finally finished!  Cheesy
I wish I had been here to see it right after you had posted it, but man! That is fantastic! It looks so good! I'm going to finish every sentence I make with an exclamation mark!

So... It's been so long since I've stitched anything. I think I took like a 4 month break from this. But it's finally done, so here it is. Smiley

10k stitches, approx. 5 1/2"x5 1/2".

8  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: One Tiny LGBTQ Thing Swap Gallery! on: July 26, 2010 12:27:19 PM
Package arrived today from Propaganda!

It's a beautiful beaded necklace, featuring two interlocking female symbols! My pictures don't do it justice, really. I don't know how to work with beads, so it's mind-blowing to me.

The necklace is a gorgeous dyed silkcord that looks awesome. It's definitely going to be getting a lot of wear. :]

I also got an extra (and, to me, humorously appropriately sized, as it's almost exactly 4"x4") edible treat! I think you must be magic, because while I love Ritter Sport, it's hard to find around here! AND in my second-favorite kind, cornflakes! Unfortunately, it's 93 degrees, here, so it's in the freezer right now, returning to it's non-liquid glory. Tongue

Thank you so much!

Great stuff, so far! (Glad astrangeone's already self-half-incriminated, so nobody'll suspect me of stealing the notebook! Grin)

Also, USPS says my item arrived at what I'm assuming is the nearest post office to my partner's home early this morning! I'm so nervous!
10  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: One Tiny LGBTQ Thing Swap (Signups: 6/11/2010 - 6/25/2010! Send: 7/16/2010) on: July 11, 2010 09:54:05 AM
I had the worst dream last night! I went into the living room to pack up my OTT, and it had somehow managed to disintegrate! I kept trying to fix it, but it would just get worse again immediately.
Anyway. I didn't wake up early enough to go to the post office in my town, and none of the other offices in the area were open at all on Saturday. So a Monday send-out it is, if all goes as planned!
