i love sending extras too.  I also am only in the planning stages but that"s whats great about a long crafting time. you really get to think about what you are making.

Since its a week from the close of signups Im hoping everyone has contacted their partners and are planning away.  I cant wait to see all the different things everyone come up with Grin

The Airship Captain is gorgeous! I love it and I wish I could steal it from you! Grin
If you're making the pattern (as I read from your blog) I'd definitely be interested in trying to make one of those.

These bags are great and I agree with Kitiza I would love to give these a try once you get a pattern. Great job

@xxx_vampires_xxx - I'm sure whatever you make will be wonderful!

On a crafty note - I've had a second serious crafting success tonight! Tried my hand at something that I haven't done in (Oh, I"m going to guess conservatively here) probably 10 years... maybe 12, and - ah ha! Just like riding a bike. Plus, I get to use power tools. I like power tools. Smiley

Now I just need to ____, _____, and ____ the ____. And probably afix a _____ ___ _____ to the end or something. I'll have to think about it.

Oh - and question: when putting in extras, does everyone do mostly crafted extras? Purchased extras? A mix of both? I'm thinking of a mix, but I'm wondering what everyone else usually does?

Happy HP Crafting! Tea.

I prefer to do crafted items for extra but with HP stuff I always throw in something from my stash.

Wow! All these amazing items mMe my stuff look like poo poo...everyone is so much better than me Sad

Awww don't say that. I bet your package is going to be fantastic. Although now I'm worried mine isn't going to be good enough.  Undecided

If you listened to your partner, put your best effort into it and didn't just half-ass it, then it's good enough!  Smiley

I have done my very best in many swaps but its all a matter of opinion, what looks good to me might not be up to par with others. I just hope its at least liked. I have had swaps where I have spent money and effort into making it super special and awesome and my partner has said that it was total garbage, I always try to push my self hard especially when I see some of the things you girls do here  Smiley

Partner's have told you it's garbage?! What an awful thing to say.  Screw them!! That's all I have to say about that...

I agree screw them. If you know its your best and you love it send it out with confidence.

Note: My son took my duffle bag to school today....along with my Quidditch hoodie...and scarf!  He's dressing up today as a quidditch player for one of his homecoming spirit days.

that is so cute. I bet he looked great. I forgot to tell you I got super lucky with the tea cup and saucer my mom had it in her give away box!  I love my mom she loves helping me talk out my swap ideas and help my find craft supplies and Hp stuff like the bumper stickers she find them at yards sales and thrift stores and pick them up cause she figures I'll do something with them.

I am head over heels in love with that Grim teacup!  So adorable.  Did you do that with resin in the bottom of the cup, or paint it somehow...?

I didnt use resin.  I use glass and ceramic paint and the end of a paint brush and just did a bunch of dots til I was happy with it.  And then baked it so it was set.

I wanted to post some of the tutorials I used for the duffle bag http://sewing.about.com/od/bagstotespurseproject/ss/dufflebag.htm.  It was a great tutorial and helped me out so much ( I had never sewn in a zipper before)

And for the dream diary http://davelowe.blogspot.com/2008/09/halloween-08-making-old-creepy-books.html  It was so easy I will definitely use this one again.  Happy crafting!
