4  QUILTING / Quilting: Discussion and Questions / I'm sure I've seen it somewhere!!! on: September 13, 2006 02:12:51 AM
I remember seeing a quilt somewhere in this forum, but can't seemed to find it now...   Sad

If I remember it correctly, it was using 10" squares at the bottom, and 12" squares at the top.  This means that the top part is a little puffed up and we put stuffing inside.  The squares are then joined into a quilt.  The completed item looked like there are little pom poms on the quilt.

I just can't recall which link it's in now...

Anyone can recall something like that?
5  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Fabric Cardholder on: February 12, 2006 05:49:55 AM
I came up with this idea suddenly.  It's all hand sewn, so the work's a bit rough.  Need to make a few more to perfect it thought.....

Comments appreciated.  Sorry for the blurry pic.

6  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Valentine's Day / Valentine Roses on: February 12, 2006 12:29:12 AM
I've made 2 pots of roses for 2 girl friends.  Comments appreciated.

The pots are made the magazine bowls method, while the roses are knitted.  The rose buds are made using Hershey Kisses chocolates.

7  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / How to sew a pair of shorts? on: November 09, 2005 05:36:36 PM
Hihi...

I saw some cute printed satin fabric and wanted to make a pair of shorts for casual wear (to wear at home).  But as a newbie, I have totally no knowledge on how to do it.  Any kind soul has a tutorial to share??
8  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / My Super Simple Cell Phone Cozy on: October 11, 2005 07:38:06 PM
I got the idea from Lara - http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=20816.0

Her tutorial is just so simple and great!  I went home immediately and try on my 1st sewn project!

PS:
1) Pls dun laugh at my horrible work, I can't use the sewing machine and do a straight line!!
2) I dunno how to change the color of the thread in the sewing machine - therefore, it's white on black background
3) I had wanted to sew beads on the cozy, but ended up tying up the ends too tightly, which made the whole thing curl up.  So I glue on star sequins instead.   Grin

9  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / TP hammock on: October 11, 2005 07:26:13 PM
I know I already have a TP cozy for one of our toilets.  But there's just no space for me to put it, and I see that we have a long hanging bar where we hang our towels...  So I've created a TP hammock!

PS: Pls ignore the ugly orange color wall, you knw, parents always have weird taste.  I made the hammock in blue color to match the floor tiles.   Wink

10  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / He and She Squid Cozy on: September 25, 2005 08:52:00 PM
I saw this ipod squid cozy and fell in love with it instantly.

Here's mine!

The flap that I've knitted turned out weird, so I gave the flap a miss.  I sewed on a button instead... It's not pictured here, as I only did it after I took this photo.  I also made some adjustments to the decreasing part, as I didn't quite understand the pattern, so I made my own adjustments.

This  cozy turned out so cute that I couldn't resist making another one.  I made him a girlfriend...

This time, I improvised my own pattern, cos I just hate working on DPN.  I made some eyelets to create a drawstring cozy.  Also, I made the opening to be at the bottom this time.
