6  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Valentine's Day / Re: Valentine Roses on: February 06, 2007 05:49:29 PM
So I hadn't seen this topic before, but I just finished crocheting a dozen roses:

The roses (more like rosebuds now that I think about it) themselves used the pattern here, and the rest was improvised. The leaves were pretty simple (ch 8, sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc, 2 dc, 2 tr, 3 sc in next ch, (up the other side of the chain) 2 tr, 2 dc, 2 sc), the stems are just sc rectangles wrapped around coat hanger wire, and the ribbon's just a long sc rectangle.

Now the trick is shipping all of that from Missouri to Massachusetts. ^_^

I love your roses and the way you bundle them all up!  Cool!

hey - i tried the alternative pattern on page three, but as i can see no piccies, i'm not sure if i've done it right/ what i'm then supposed to do with it - personally, it looks like a leaf to me!
