1  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Re: first try at my own design on: November 28, 2010 03:34:37 PM
I really love the design, I'd put darts in the bottom, and use a different fabric for the lining, but I reallly like it, can I have it?  I'd love to see a tute on the overlap at the top.

4  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / half-moon zippers bag on: September 09, 2010 02:26:21 PM
I made it from a foam green brocade drapery panel and some cotton print lining, both in greens.  I like lots of pockets and zippers

note front zipper it has:
my wallet chained in there, [I lose them....]

I wanted a secret [?] zipper pocket for my MP3
so I put it in the handle next to the ring I attached the whole handle to on one side so I can clip my keys to it.

the inside features two big dividers, a zippered pocket [for the camera] and a smaller pocket on the divider for pens and the Tide stain remover

I filled it so you can see the pockets and lining

no tutorial it took forever to make it and I kept having to revise my ideas......
but I took two big rounds for the outside and four for the inside and two each long pieces about 6" X 60".  and lots o' zippers,

I love this- pink and black, wonderful, and all the lovely pockets, I love pockets. I make bags for kids to carry crayons and color books, and for adults to carry knitting, crochet, books, I have two pockets outside and four inside, I love pockets. I call mine something-to-do-bags, I make lots of them [to give them away] so they aren't fancy, but you've inspired me to make a great bag for myself same pattern as you used but with my own favorite stuff.  Smiley

I wanna try to sew a hidden zip pocket on the front part of the bag, been think for quite a while but still I can't figure out how

use an invisible zipper, and install a pocket-pre-assmbly in front, I don't know if you can retro-fit it, but you never know- if you install the pocket full width the sides are hidden in the side stitching.

really good explanation, or you could tie a knot in the handle.
10  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions / Re: Round bag help? on: September 01, 2010 10:34:47 AM
too cute!  I've made lots of bolster pillows and I noticed the first responder had it exactly right, two circles, two strips to attach the zipper to in between, and they need to be long enough to sew around the circle, put zipper in first, but if you've never used a sewing machine it might be kinda beyond your skills, tho' as a project it's not hard.  And it needs fusible webbing or lining with heavy fabric.  Did you want to maybe just ask someone to make it for you?
