I just had to have some flowers, we are digging out from more than two feet accumulation of snow, the temp is 23 above, and I miss my gardens, so.....

2  two new messenger bags- one to give one to use in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by bailey36 on: December 31, 2009 05:59:12 PM

I made the quilted one from a couple of old pillow shams, the fabric is a velvety cotton corduroy, French blue with a beighe-y bas-relief, I make mine with a side panel, and line them with an identical bag for the inside, lots of pockets and even zippered compartments, I slip a few pieces of thin cardboard the size of the sides to keep them from being floppy.  I start out with a rectangle of fabric 26" X 13", insert a side panel and put pockets on the front and back, make the strap and sew it in, make the flap and sew it in, then sew in the lining which has 5-6 pockets in it depending on whether I'm giving it away or keeping it.

The African animal one is to give away.

3  quilted sloppy bag in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by bailey36 on: December 23, 2009 05:09:18 PM
I needed a purse and know I'm not getting the one I want for Christmas so I took some of my favorite blue and white fabrics with a bity of yellow tossed in, cut them into squares, make a large piece of fabric, quilted it and made this:

this is the top flap open showing my 'money' flap.  I lose my wallet if it's detached so this one is pinned inside.

I lined the inside with an antique table cloth.  It has two flaps, two pockets including one for pens, and a zipper compartment outside, and two zipper, three pockets on the inside,  I like making no-flap messenger  style bags for people to tote their crocheting knitting, etc in, so this is just a modified one.  It holds a lot and doesn't stand up like my something-to-do bags do so it's a sloppy bag

5  jackets-Jedi hood in Clothing for Curvaceous Craftsters: Completed Projects by bailey36 on: December 05, 2009 05:34:09 AM
I wanted to make two long jackets to give myself some length, lightweight and colorful, I wanted a hood on one so....

this one is dark blue with a blue and white swirly striped edging and hood.  I found the hood pattern online, I took an old shirt apart and used it [lengthened] for a pattern for the body of the jacket, I flat-felled all of the visible seams in the striped hood, the dark blue one I lined the hood.

I had little fabric and had to make do, I'm good at making do.

I can't trust anyone to take pictures for me "where is the button aain?" "Oh, you wanted your head in the shot?" "that's my finger?".
so they are on the hangar.

6  free quilts/blankets in Quilting: Completed Projects by bailey36 on: December 05, 2009 05:10:44 AM
I made 11 quilts, so far some for giveaways [at a Church charity], some for gifts, and I'm still making more.

two velvet ones tied with either self-fabric buttons or gold ones- back with Egyptian cotton

the one I just finished-mostly polished cotton

I didn't take pictures of all of them, just my favorites.

I'm using all soft feeling fabrics for a new one now, velvets, Jersey, white-blue-several pinks, purple. teal, It'll feel good and be so soft.
