11  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Five stitched Pokemon necklaces on: April 29, 2012 11:53:56 AM
I've been on a cross-stitched-necklace-making kick lately. Here are the Pokemon ones that I've come up with. They are stitched on 14 count plastic canvas, and the backs are covered in soft felt. I got a bunch of black velvet cords on eBay.

Thanks for looking! Cheesy
12  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Geek towel of nerdiness on: March 15, 2012 12:12:52 PM
This is a little different than what I usually post on Craftster, but it was just so nerdy I had to share... If there are any Star Trek: The Next Generation fans out there, you may enjoy this. (The Crushers wouldn't fit! Sorry Bev and Wes.) The people are Iotacons by Andy Rash.

I made a pattern if anyone is interested.
13  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / My vintage sailor girl on: March 08, 2012 09:08:02 PM
I came across this old line drawing online one day, randomly during an image search. She was so adorable that I just had to stitch her. Her skin is a bit peachier than it appears in the photo. It's pretty much all backstitch and satin stitch. She's in a 7" hoop.  Cheesy

14  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Buzzy Bee cross stitch, 100 percent original on: February 27, 2012 10:25:26 PM

This is my first ever 100% original cross stitch. My husband loves to draw, and we turned his sketch of a cute bee into a pattern. It's not the greatest photo, but I'm going to try to take a better one. I'll be making and stitching a lot more patterns based on my husband's illustrations.  Cheesy
15  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Finn and Jake as Professor Layton and Luke- crossover on: February 14, 2012 11:15:30 AM
The current challenge at spritestitch.com is an "Exquisite Corpse." Someone gives you a clue, and you stitch whichever game you think it is or could be. (You're free to go any direction that you want to.)
My clue was: "A fine gentleman and his young companion solve puzzles and mysteries together." It made me think of two different things, so I went with a crossover, and here you go!
I think Finn and Jake look adorable as Professor Layton and Luke! Smiley
16  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Little Pea Family on a Fancy Carpet embroidery on: February 02, 2012 10:04:50 AM

I based this embroidery on the book by Amy Krouse Rosenthal, but I modified it for my family and I embellished it with the "fancy carpet" and the framed pea pod.
I used FrauShizzle's hoopless frame tutorial to finish it. The fringe on the carpet is turkey work.
I hope you like it! Cheesy
17  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Ness from Earthbound Cross Stitch on: October 20, 2011 12:42:02 PM
This was my super secret swap project for spritestitch.com. It's Ness from Earthbound at the beginning of the game, when he's sleeping in bed. 4,899 stitches. My swap partner liked it, so all is well. Cheesy
18  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Pikachu Baby Onesie on: October 20, 2011 12:04:46 PM
I cross stitched Pikachu on a 12 month baby onesie. This was my first attempt at using waste canvas. It wasn't too bad. It was easier to pull out the threads than I thought it would be. My baby girl will look so cute in it!
19  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Gundam Life Lesson on: September 02, 2011 10:42:14 AM
I made this pattern from a sprite of AcGuy from an old Gundam game. It's always cracked me up that little boys are always climbing into Gundams and stealing them, so I thought this would be a good "life lesson."  Cheesy
20  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Exeggutor Pokemon Cross Stitch on: September 02, 2011 10:32:26 AM
This is the largest Pokemon that I have stitched so far. It took me a couple of weeks. It was a surprise for my niece. Exeggutor is her favorite and she was thrilled.  Cheesy

The pattern is by littlemojo.
