This is my first ever attempt at wet felting. I found this awesome pattern online and since I just got some wool, I thought I would give felting a shot. This is the pattern
http://www.heavydutydesign.com/alicethelma/2009/03/free-pattern-felted-nesting-bowls/ Her bowls are awesome and beautiful, mine is nice, but doesnt look like those.
I used a sport weight yarn and knit on size 8 needles as that was the largest dpns I have. The pattern calls for knitting every row. Here is my attempt at her wonderful bowls.

The top of the bowl rolled in on itself. I thought this would fix itself in the felting process but as you can see, it just felted a lip on the bowl. Also the sides of the bowl are not as stiff as I expected them to be, the structure of the bowl doesnt hold at all, its all floppy.
Can someone who knows more than me, please tell me what I did wrong? I love the concept of this and I very much want to make more bowls and possibly a pencil/pen/needle holder for my desk.
