Hallo everyone,

2  Retro, vintage, pinup :D (image heavy) in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by catcradle on: May 02, 2010 08:47:34 AM
Hi everybody,
me and my sewing machine have been very busy the whole winter long. Yesterday I've posted some of the stuff I made (http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=346130.0), today it's time for some more Wink

Next one is rather for going out with my boyfriend (and for sure not WITHOUT him Wink) than for going to university, although I know few of my profs had nothing against such school uniforms  Cheesy

You know that typical french maid uniform? So I wanted my dress to look a bit like that. And think I seceded Wink

And here a little detail form the front of the dress.
I found the motive in internet and painted it by myself on the dress. I'm really happy with the way how it looks like Smiley

I hope you liked that, opinions, questions, etc. are very welcomed.
Greetings to all of you!

3  I made some stuff for summer... and summer plays tricks on me! in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by catcradle on: May 01, 2010 01:23:10 PM
Well, I know, I know, it's spring and not summer yet, but last winter was so long and cold and unfriendly... :/
So I kept myself busy and finished some project that were on my mind since some time.
I was inspired by 40s and 50s, with its feminine touch, beautiful silhouette and awesome patterns (polka dots rules! Cheesy)
Anyway, hope you guys gonna like it, any feedback and comments are welcome. If you want to ask me any questions about "sewing techniques" Wink don't hesitate and send me a personal message. I will try to answer as fast as possible.
So, here it goes!

This beautiful white fabric was a gift from my future mother-in-law. Personally I was never found of white cloths and the idea of wearing bright colors, but after I saw that piece of fabric I wasn't thinking twice and just made that dress Wink

I just love the next one. It is rather tight, but still feels really comfortable. I'm happy about small detail - red buttons, they match nicely some other accessories, like shoes, bag, ... and since I'm a girly girl I got tones of such stuff and love to wear it!  Roll Eyes

Pinup style! (or am I mistaken?!) When I wear this dress I feel like million dollars Cheesy
Size zero should be damned, damned I say  Wink

And last but not least, my new bag! Notice little white anchor. I was looking for a proper button I could use for this project, but I've decided to make it by myself out of polymer clay. After it was ready I just painted it white and used lots of glue  Grin

It got pretty late (it's already after 10p.m.) so I think I deserved a glass of wine  Grin
During next few days i should post other pieces I made for this summer.

Lots of greeting to you all! Have a great summer  Wink

4  Bedroom modification in Interior Decorating: Completed Projects by catcradle on: December 12, 2009 10:18:30 AM
Few months ago we moved in to a new flat. It had a huge bedroom just like I wanted. But the wall behind the bed was so empty and made rather dull impression.

So I decided to paint kind of mural, that would make it bit more interesting.

It was my first attempt to paint a wall like this, but still I think it turned out pretty interesting.
The design I used is unfortunately not mine (found it somewhere on Internet).

Now I just hope, that it won't be to difficult to cover it with white paint when we'll move out  (as our landlord wants to have it) Wink

5  BANKSY inspired cross stich attempt in Needlework: Completed Projects by catcradle on: December 09, 2009 11:04:36 PM
hello fellow craftsmen  Smiley

I've tried out a technique that was new for me, namely cross stitching.
for the first project I've decided to choose something small, because i could imagine how unmotivated i would be after few weeks of stitching...  Undecided and beginners want to have quick results...

anyway, this pattern that was inspired by Banksys "Flower bomber". i find his works really brilliant and wanted to show my appreciation by making this project. and it was great idea for Christmas present for my boyfriend  Wink

besides the original motive is just awesome...! check out the: http://www.banksy.co.uk/

hope you like it...
feedback is more than welcomed!  Smiley

ps. i took the shots in the evening, so i had to figure out how to avoid flash light reflecting in the glass, that's  way frame is positioned at such strange angle  Undecided

so, here it goes...   Wink

6  little black dress... but still a bit different in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by catcradle on: December 09, 2009 02:12:16 PM
hi guys,

i saw recently a similar dress in one of countless internet clothing shops, and just fell in love with it. but since i live in germany and the shop is somewhere in USA, i figured out it will be much more fun to make it by myself instead of purchasing it  (and cheaper too!) Grin

i used a piece of black fabric that left from some other projects.
since sometimes I'm a really impatient person instead of buying metal studs i grabbed an old belt and picked them one by one out (the belt was really old, but that what gives this nice colour to the studs... they are not that shiny anymore  Wink )

as to the pattern: i made a simple top with high waist, which gives this few extra inches to the whole silhouette, and for the skirt i customized an tulip skirt pattern, that i found on burdastyle.com

don't have the link anymore, but i can look for it, just let me know if you might have use for it.  Smiley

SO, i still have no idea where I'm going to celebrate new years eve, but definitely i know what I'm going to wear!  Wink

feedback will be highly appreciated!  Grin

thanks for watching!

yep, that's me   Roll Eyes (pity that you can't see my new super mega cute pumps  Wink )

dress on the clothes hanger (i wonder when i will get me a proper mannequin, it would make things so much easier...)

and the detail made of studs...

7  from a simple denim jacket to a love declaration :D in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by catcradle on: December 09, 2009 01:13:54 PM
hi guys,

I had this boring jacket, that was still too nice to give it away, but not cool enough to have fun wearing it.
so I've decided to upgrade it.

using the paint for fabrics, brushes no.1 and 3, and logo of one of my favourite psychobilly bands TIGER ARMY (just love them  Cool ), i turned it into a piece that i will wear with pleasure.  Grin

here's zoom of the logo

the whole jacket

and paint that i used (i run out of white so I'm posting picture of green colour)
i can really recommend this product, doesn't wash off and colours stay vivid for a long time  Cheesy

8  Cardigan for the gentleman... ;) in Knitting: Completed Projects by catcradle on: December 09, 2009 07:55:48 AM
Hello everybody,

since I'm new here, but just love all the projects, I would like to share with you my latest "achievement"...  Wink

Winter is coming and it's getting really cold where we live (middle of Germany). That is why I decided to knit a warm and cosy sweater for my boyfriend.

He is bit shy, that's why he was posing in that funny looking hat, that covered half of his pretty face  Undecided

Would love to get some feedback from you guys.
And thanks for looking!!!
