1  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Discussion and Questions / car or train? on: July 12, 2010 05:22:06 PM
I've made a pattern for both. Which do you think would be prettier as a plush, and which is less *babyish*

2  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / stop on: June 19, 2010 06:39:54 PM
if life is a train
and obstacles are
the rain
a minute would be a mile
and a second far too long
and too fast
to be moving.
so please, I beg you
if you can
and I know you can
help me stop the train

never not
always am
a lost cause
never meant to be there
never wanted
never needed
never asked
when there
no idea
where there is
or where it will be
so i wonder
where am i?
and why in the world
I'm here
in the first place

this is
the heart of life
it was big
the tree was green
the heart was red
nearly falling out
of the tree
day by day
second by second
man grows greedier
our soul
the tree
the heart
yet I
still hope
that I
just maybe
could help
it grow back
i am not strong
i am weak
But i'm me
i'm me
always me
but some one else
so I will help

These doodles will eventually be turned into paintings

3  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / what do you do when you lose the ability do do something?.. on: April 26, 2010 06:26:08 PM
.. you take it out on photoshop.
I am a writer. I was born to write. No matter what it is, a song a poem or a book, anything involved with writing, I ace it. I used to rhyme as fast and awesomely as can be. When i think, I think as though I'm a  narrator in a book. I've started a new language this past year. And haven't written much in English except for when I'm angry. This past week I've been trying to write a song. Or two. Or three. But my ability to write is gone...
I'm so angry and sad that I'm crying as i write this. Inside my heart (did i mention I've lost the ability to shed tears when it's something involved with me? if it's a book or a movie, the waterworks spill, but something related to me and not a single tear is shed?) i 'm poring just like the rain on the windowpane right now.
I'm now working to get my writing mojo back.
Step one: Take all frustrations out in photoshop:
it's ugly yeah, but whatever

5  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / good enough present? fancy red earring urgent NEED HELP! on: February 26, 2010 08:21:33 PM
a really good friend of mine's birthday party is this weekend (or rather tomorrow) and i kept on thinking it is far away and stalling making her a present.
Today I realized that it is tomorrow! My other friend told me to make her some earrings, since she LOVES earrings, but I decided that some earrings is to little for a present, so I started making her a charm bracelet. I'm done the bracelet in its too plain to be the only present (its just a chain i made with some charms, because I don't have enough pliers to do a fancy chain mail weave) so I started fooling around with some wire and beads, to make some earrings.
I got this.
Is it good enough? Would you wear it if it was yours? And is it too formal?

Please ignore the random wire in the back, it's because i haven't secured it yet.

Please answer! In dire need of assistance
6  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / mutant monster bunny on: February 26, 2010 08:17:27 PM
birthday present for a friend that has been begging me to make her a plushie since she became friends with me (and I honestly feel she only became friends with me because she wants me to make her things and give her my old clothes, but she has stuck with me a little bit longer than anyone else (though its not that hard to stick with me because even though I'm mid-depression, i act all happy and carefree at school))
just stuck the fabric in the machine, and sewed wavy lines, but it ended up looking as though its meant for holding

7  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / felted bangles on: February 26, 2010 07:53:34 PM
whoo! felted bangles (totally awesome to wear, they make everyone jealous and are soo soft in the skin)

step one:
get some rubber (or plastic) bangle thingymajigs (behold my awesome technical language)

like so
about this thick

tie a knot with wool/roving

wrap around

all the way

i thought i had as good picure for this next part but i don't. So what you do is once you finish wrapping, you find some roving loops close to the end and shove bobby pin (or paper clip) in there. The you squish the end bit of roving in the loop, and take a pencil or something an shove it in there until the roving comes out the other end. Wrap that little bit around the bangle

over to the sink

green dish soap

dip bangle in hot water

squish soapy hand like so

roll on edge, slowly then gradually growing faster and harder

dunk in cold water

dunk in hot water

place in towel

needlefelt loose parts

show off

i want to make some taiyaki and was wondering if there was a shop in Aberdeen that sells taiyaki pans? maybe daiso..
i would like to eat some storebought taiyaki but it is probably only available in chinatown and i don't think I'll go there for a long time.

any other place in Richmond/Vancouver that sells the plan would be fine too! Wink
