1  TAKEN: Patchwork pieces in NEW ZEALAND by octopusgrrl on: July 12, 2007 09:09:22 PM
(ETA: Thanks for the enquiries but the fabric has now been taken)

Hi all,

I recently acquired a huge bag of quilting fabrics from my local Freecycle list and there's really heaps more than I need. Some of it was already cut up into squares and triangles for an unfinished patchwork project which I know I'll never get around to finishing, so I thought I'd offer it to you guys to see if someone can do anything with it! Squares range from 2" - 5", and there's some extra fabric to cut some more as well.

I'm happy to post free to anywhere in NZ*, just so long as someone out there will use it - pls PM me or email octopusgrrl@yahoo.com if you're interested Smiley

(*I can only afford to mail this within New Zealand, however if overseas people are really interested and are willing to pay the postage - estimated US$10-15 - I'm happy to make arrangements!)

cheers,
Lhizz

I meant to post over the weekend that I'd received my parcel from Sarah, but I forgot, sorry! Here's a really bad pic of the goodies she sent me:

- some hefty gauge knitting needles with kiwis on top
- 2 skeins of beautiful handdyed sock yarn in two of my favourite colours
- a lovely paua shell disc necklace
- a postcard from Chch
Thanks, Sarah, it was an awesome surprise! Cheesy

It was me! I thought the granny squares would be an instant giveaway Smiley I wasn't sure whether we were allowed to put in the package who it was from, so I kept it anonymous.

I'm so glad you like the bag! I'd originally planned to line it with this cool matching villa house print fabric (for the NZ content) but the place I bought it from online has mucked me about and I didn't get it in time, so that's why I added in the extra fat quarters. I was pretty pleased with how the bag turned out - I'd been planning to make one like that for ages and never gotten around to it, and I still have enough yarn left to make one for myself after the Knitting Olympics are over. I took a pic before I sent it (sorry about the quality - it was a really overcast day and my camera is poxy at the best of times!):
