1  Re: 13 Days of Halloween Mini Swap Rd 4 in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by tiffi_333 on: July 29, 2012 06:06:55 PM
I received from my partner Sparks a few days ago but havent had a chance to upload pictures until now. I've only opened a couple of days so far but Im really excited about the things i've received Smiley

This first thing i got was the bag that held everything. I didnt get a complete photo since i wanted to focus on the image on it. It was a normal black tote and Sparks added a jack skellington face to it with felt. Its a bit small for me to use as an everyday tote so i think ill be using it for holding craft supplies.

The first package i got to unwrap was the goodies. I didnt get a picture of the goodies before they got put away, but i got a couple Thai noodle meals (kinda like mr noodles, but with rice noodles instead). She also sent 2 goul-aid drink mixes, a fruit roll up and a pack of fruit snack for each of the guys i live with. My bf was excited about the goul-aid and stole them all lol.

the Second package i got to unwrap was an awesome brain necklace. The brain was made out of polymer clay and put on a really nice metal base. The necklace cord is a soft black ribbon which is nice.

the third package i got to unwrap was a pair of kitchen towls. They have bloody hand prints (i think her kids helped her with them because the prints are tiny Smiley ) the bottom of the towels also have a stitched heart monitor line which is such an awesome touch. I dont think i'll ever really use these though, i dont really want to ruin them cleaning up spills.

Today i got to open day 12 instead of day 4...i forgot that my partner said to open this one in the beginning. I got an awesome cat in the hat hat. I used to have one but it vanished like 5 years ago, i think this one is better made anyway..i got the old one when the movie came out and it had a logo for it on the front which i didnt really like. My bf keeps stealing it from me though so i pout until he gives it back lol.

2  Re: SUPER MARIO BROS SWAP RND 2 GALLERY in The Swap Gallery by tiffi_333 on: June 29, 2012 10:58:37 AM
this is the great swap package i received from mama24boyz

the first thing i got was a pair of pillow cases...they're actually double sided but i didnt get a picture of the other side. mario is facing the other way on the other side of the pillow case, and boo is hiding, covering his eyes on the other side of the boo pillow case

this is the rest of the stuff she made me...i love the crocheted dry bones, but it's been stolen from me, which i was kinda expecting. i also got a mario mustache necklace which i've been playing around with since i got it. she also included some candy. the bomb-omb is kinda like a fun-dip, it has a hard cany stick and then powder inside. the other pack of candy has mario shaped gummies and hard candy kinda like sweet tarts. they've also been stolen by the guys i live with lol

Its taken me forever to post pictures of the stuff i received from Saintcady, but I was finally able to. She sent lots of awesome beads, a few small lengths of chainmail pieces and a pair of blue chainmail earrings. Thanks again saintcady, im sorry it took so long to post the pics.

I also received from Mom2em yesterday. She sent a few different colours of necklace chain (ball and chain kind) as well as a few ribbon necklaces that fit like chokers. She also sent beads, shrinky dinks, leather cord and a jewelry magazine. Thanks so much for everything Smiley

4  Friday the 13th figure in Polymer Clay: Completed Projects by tiffi_333 on: January 05, 2012 09:10:05 PM
It's been a while since i've posted something ive made because ive been busy with swaps and other things so i thought i'd post something i made a few months ago.

I made this for a friend of mine a while ago to cheer him up when he was having a blah week. He ended up super excited showing it off to his family with a big smile so it worked well for its purpose  Grin

I even gave him his machete, which i painted with a silver paint, and included "blood" on the blade. the only thing i wish i was able to do was put loose strands of hair on the back but i didn't think of it until after it was baked so i wasn't really able to but that's alright.  its about 3 inches tall... I added a large key ring and chain to the top so it could be hung on the wall if wanted though it can stand up on its own as well...i figured being able to hang it instead would stop it from being knocked over easily. It also has a few coats of gloss on it to help protect from scratches in case it does fall over or get dropped.

I'd love to hear what everyone thinks, especially since its the first figure like this ive done, though i am in the process of doing more right now based off other movies. I'll also be posting a bunch of other stuff Ive made over the last while which includes a bunch of bangles with creepy motifs as well as some necklaces.

5  Re: Givers and needers R10 The Great Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by tiffi_333 on: November 07, 2011 10:56:02 AM
I'm finally able to upload the pictures of the package mandykaye sent be a bit ago Cheesy she sent lots of fabric, some in squares i can use for smaller projects or patchwork items, and a bunch rolled up that still had the paper wrap from the fabric store. most of the stuff rolled is about 3/4 of a yard but there was a few a bit bigger and smaller as well. she sent two sizes of squares, some about 5x5 and some about 3x3...she sent a few of each patterned squares. the bigger ones had 2-3 each and the smaller ones had up to 6 of each. she also sent me some ruffled trims, poof balls, pink piping, small bows and flowers, Popsicle sticks, coloured hemp, a bag of beads/buttons, jump rings/earring hooks, and a mini chalk board.

thanks again mandykaye! ill be sending my thankyou's in the next few days.

I finally got my camera back and was able to take pictures of the fabric i received from rlynn

i have plans for all of it so far except the yellowish-green material, but im thinking if i cant come up with anything for that colour i can always dye it and use it very easily. There is plenty of time for me to come up with a plan for it though since ive already started using the black. I love the grey which is a ribbed knit material, im very lucky that she gave me a few yards of it because im sure i could use it for more than one item very easily...im not too sure what the black material is though, its stretch, kinda shiney but not over the top and it has this texture (i think thats the best word for it) on the back of it which is nice because i think itll be a bit warmer than normal knit when i wear it..it actually looks like its kinda meant for formal wear type projects. The red is also a ribbed knit material, i think there is maybe 1/2 yard or so of it which will be nice for smaller items or detailing on larger ones. The blue material is regular t-shirt material, and i think there might be 2-3 yards of it there, i cant quite remember (the stickers were still on most of the materials stating how much was there).

thanks so much again rlynn.

Ive received my packages from both my partners, and im super happy with what I got. Dontdresslikeapril sent me a scoodie that was crocheted. Its clearly based off of little red cap. I plan on getting a red shirt so i can have something that matches it. I havent taken a picture of me wearing it yet but i do plan to. She also sent me a purse using fabric that has the original drawings from little red cap which i love. (Im a sucker for original illustrations and have bought lots of fabric with old drawings on it)

Rae-mazing sent me a snow white and rose red inspired package with a cuff (using red rose fabric), fabric covered buttons, and a purse (with an apple applique). Ive already been using this purse, since it was the package i received first, and its very strong. (Im not always so nice to my bags lol)

Thank you so much both of you, I hope you get your packages soon from the evil post office lol. I hope you guys as happy with the package i sent as i was with yours.

This swap is for everyone who loves those fairy tale stories written by the brothers grimm. Most of these fairy tales have changed into the disney versions but for this swap we will be crafting for how the stories were originally written, with the darker storylines rather than the cute child friendly versions. At the bottom of this post there will be a link with all the household stories written by the brothers grimm to help you pick your favourites and to learn your parners, incase you don't know the story. Since all the stories are less than 10 pages it shouldn't be an inconvience to look up your partners favourite tales. This will also be a 4 point swap so be creative and have lots of fun with it.

*Because there are so many(about 200) tales written by the brothers grimm I'll just put the link to wikipedia which lists them all. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grimm%27s_Fairy_Tales
**You can also read the stories online at http://www.familymanagement.com/literacy/grimms/grimms-toc.html, just click on the title you want and it will take you to the story, they all seem to work except the last one which tries to take you to a page with ALL the stories written out, which you really don't need anyway. This link also include the few stories that aren't technically concidered fairy tales. Since this is mostly about the brothers grimm rather than general fairy tales its ok to pick one of those stories as your favourite, but also try to include some of the others as well.

There are plenty of crafts you can do with these stories, but if you have any problems coming up with ideas you can always stalk your partners wist for inspiration or even use google to come up with more ideas. Don't forget to look over your partners profile so you can try to get a feel for their style as well.

Also since this is for the original fairytales and NOT the disney ones, please don't craft things with a disney theme...I don't want to t-shirts, etc., with disneys version of snow white...There was talk of another girl organizing a disney fairytale swap so if that's what you're looking for you might see that one sometime soon.

IF YOU WANT TO PARTICIPATE, REMEMBER TO SEND YOUR INFO TO ORGANIZER VIA PRIVATE MESSAGE AND NOT TO REPLY WITH IT HERE.

10  Re: DIY Craft Kit Round 14 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by tiffi_333 on: June 10, 2011 01:08:00 PM
sorry it had taken so long to post these pictures, but this is the sewing kit i had received a while ago.

i was sent a binder full of tutorials and helpful hints for different projects and stitches. i also received a few different fabrics, a lovely pattern, which ive started making with the black stretch fabric, a lot of different tools like chalk and safety pins and was even given a small example with a shirt to show many types of stitches you can use on the machines.

I also wanted to add links to the other posts i have put up today. the first one is the things ive made using the polymer clay tutorials and the second is the soaps i made with my melt and pour soap kit. the second post also has some other bath goodies i made ages ago but just never got around to posting.
