"If he does it again I will have to leave him. And then what am I supposed to do?"

"Please don't do it again."

"I need to be alone. Sometimes I just want to hide"

"Things get so overwhelming. I never get time to myself. Sometimes I feel like hiding out."

it says, " My husband and I practice Domestic Discipline..." and on the rug it is also written, "it saved our marriage"

It says, "Our paddle is much bigger than the one pictured though...."

NikonGoddess, Welcome! Hopefully you can join in soon!

OK, So I received from LydiaHarper today!! YYAAYYY!!! But yall have to wait for pictures until I get back to the house. I'm at my cousins house sitting and I need to get my camera and cord in the same room. I'll be back later tonight to post!   Grin

P.S. Lydia, I'm wearing one of my goodies already. Haven't taken them off since I opened up the package!

EDIT: On to the Goods!!!!!!!
So i have edited this post waaay to many times. this is what I get for posting at 1am. *sigh* Never the less, I'm excited and had to make sure I did this before I even thought of sleep!!

Group Shot!!

First I got an AMAZING Green Man box for storage! And I actually have a slight storage problem so this will get a lot of use and shown off to all my friends often. I love it! And the pictures are perfect  Cheesy the green it's p[ainted it really bright and pretty, the camera couldn't pick it up for some reason. But trust me it's so pretty!

Outside

Inside

Next is a set of fairy doors and a shell offering bowl. Lydia I swear you're psychic. I have been thinking for about a month now about doing a shrine or something for the fairies to help my garden. And Now I have what I need!! I love the use of the keys and the mirrors on it. If I were a Fae I would definitely have fun with these doors.

Bottom of offering shell. it was clever using the other shells as legs. I wouldn't have thought of it.

This is my "mystery" craft inspired by her dream. Bast earrings! They are GREAT I put them on as soon as I saw them. I only took them off long enough to go outside and snap a picture! And they're made quite sturdy too, which is good for me since I am so rough with everything. lol

Action Shot! (It's hard to pose with my giant camera! It's really meant for travel, not self shots haha)

I also got a pair of Red Dangle Earrings. Very summer like! These will get a great deal of wear, probably starting tomorrow.  Cheesy

And as an extra, I got a book on Runes. She saw that I had gotten a set from DanniQuee last swap and went out a found a book for me to use with them!!  Wink I most certainly needed it. I have been lazy about going out and buying myself one.

Everything is so thoughtful and perfect!! Thanks LydiaHarper! It definitely made my day/week/month/sabbat!!

Freedom of flight

Ending of one life to another

Makers Wand

Goddess Mobile Hanging Thing   Wink

Hope you all can see these ok. Thanks for looking! I have close ups of all the other stuff but I think you can see them pretty well on her pics. I'll upload them under my pics here on craftster if you want to see the others.

25  Pointy and Blue, and Just for You!! in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by RippledWater on: May 02, 2010 01:31:49 PM
Hello All!
Been a while since I posted much of anything. I have been busy making things, I just need to get busy uploading some things on here  Wink
I just participated in the WWP Beltane Swap and I made my partner a hat that I am very proud of. It's not the first one I have made.. I've made about 3 so far, but this one has come out the prettiest. The others are awesome too but it's just not the same lol.

HAT!! It's made of this taffeta material, there is wire in the brim to make it adjustable, and the tulle is braided (white and tan) and secured with 3 safety pins so she can remove it and dress it down or up as she pleases.

Back in all it's fluffy glory

And of course we need an action shot Grin  This is my partner, DaniQuee, donning her hat. I think it looks FABULOUS on her!

all the other goodies put together with the hat in it's place of honor Smiley you can also see the other stuff on the swap gallery for it

Hope you all like it! Thanks for looking!

27  Interview Shirt *Tute Added... finally* :D in Clothing for Curvaceous Craftsters: Completed Projects by RippledWater on: January 26, 2010 09:51:48 AM
So my Bestest had an interview today and she wanted something professional and cute to wear. She brain stormed some and decided... RUFFLES!!! Thus the ruffle top was born!!!

Didn't use a pattern just went off her measurements and what she had in her head. Cap sleeves to cover her tats and it V's just just before the cleavage area so exposure for the goodies... WWOOOOOO!! C&C are welcome. I would really like to know how to bigger ruffles better.
Thanks for looking! This is the only pic I have for the moment. I'll get more when she gets out of her interview.

TUTORIAL

The pic is a thumbnail I think you should be able to click it and enlarge it some.

Ok, so I apologize for its extreme lateness. I started going back to school again (after I had to withdraw once). Theres a long story about this. But its not about crafts so I will not bore you with my hatred of school bureaucracy.

This is my first tute, Im sorry there arent any pics Ill try a little paint and see what happens with that lol.

Materials:
Fabric ( I used about 3-4 yards for her and had some left over. About 2 for the shirt and about 1 or so for the ruffles)
Scissors
Sewing Machine
Ruffler Foot (optional)
Pins
T-Shirt or T-shirt Pattern
Thread
Iron
PATIENCE!!

Step 1 - So I am terrible at pattern drafting I do a lot of unnecessary measurements, but that is how I made this shirt for her. If you know how to draft a pattern or already have a t shirt that fits just right use that instead. I wont go into detail about my terrible pattern, but if you have questions feel free to ask me. I basically drafted a half of a paper t-shirt thing

Step 2 - You want your fabric folded in half, now take you t shirt and fold that in half too (this should cut the shirt in half from collar to you bottom band if that makes any sense). And place that on your fabric so that the folded fabric and folded shirt line up.

Step 3 - Cut out two and DONT FORGET SEAM ALLOWANCE. Of your pattern one will be the back and one will be your front. What we did for her shirt is I sewed the two pattern pieces together (sides and shoulders) and had her play live dress form. Once she had it on I took some chalk and we decided how low she wanted the V in the front and what didnt fit properly (i.e. the shoulders being to long or the arm pits being too low) Make your adjustments and fix them as you see fit for you.

Step 4 For the sleeves we made cap sleeves, which are basically half a sleeve that flairs slightly.. I dont know the measurement for it. What we did is we folded her shirt arm hole in half (shoulder touching bottom of arm pit. Like a sandwich) and traced it, this became the top of our cap sleeve. From there we flared it a little and measured how many inches down her arm she wanted it to go.  DONT FORGET SEAM ALLOWANCE! Then we cut them (2 of them! Lol, dont forget that, we almost did!) and sewed them on.

Step 5 Next we finished up by hemming the bottom of the sleeves and shirt as well as the neck lines.

Step 6 Ruffles.. *sigh*. When I did this shirt I did not have a ruffler foot for my machine. So I will tell you how to do it without one, if you have one GREAT! Youre ahead of the game!!
To make ruffles, you will need to decided how you want them to look first off. We decided small ruffles around the neck and large ones flowing down. For the neck, they were about an inch wide. This means we cut the fabric 2 inches wide and double the length of the neck line. We ended up doing one side at a time. You cut the fabric the length and width (everything is doubles here for ruffles). We folded the fabric in half (making it look like 1 inch again) and sewed to fabric together, thus forming a tube.

Take your tube and turn it inside out, leaving the stitches inside the tube and a clean edge on the outside. Sew the two ends closed tucking in the end fabric to give you a clean edge. Now you will need to iron these flat. Once ironed, pin on end to the shirt where the ruffles will start and then start to make little pleats every inch or so and pinning them in place so that they do not come undone. Now take and sew them on along the neck line.

For the larger ruffles we make larger tubes and repeated the process up above, except we hand sewed these on so that we could make them twist and turn and dangle more controllably.

This should end the Interview Ruffle Shirt tute. Of I was unclear about anything please let me know. This is the first time I have made a tute or explained how to make anything to someone (none of my friends sew). Thanks for your patience and I hope this helps. Cheesy

28  Dad's Christmas in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by RippledWater on: January 11, 2010 08:33:05 AM
So Like I have said, I Crafted Christmas this year for friends and family. My dad and I go to the gym together as a motivational buddy type thing and I noticed he didn't have a bag for his clothes and belongings. So Long story short I made him this... I didn't use a pattern just free handed what I wanted it to look like and I did the quilting myself (if you can call that quilting who knows Wink ). He didn't know I had made it till he saw my tag on the inside. The fleece was added to made it sturdy. and you can't really tell but it's a boxed rectangle shape.

It's not bad for a first go.. If I make it again I think I might use a lining instead of leaving it just the quilted fleece.

Front/Outside

Inside with little pocket for keys

Side with Water Bottle holder made from fabric and elastic

sorry the pics are crap, I was up till 3am finishing this and thus bearing fruit to the terrible pics. Thanks for looking. C&C are always welcome.I wouldn't mind knowing any ideas to make this better for next time.

29  first recon in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by RippledWater on: January 03, 2010 02:06:34 PM
This was my first recon and I was so shocked at how amazingly easy it was.... trust there will be many more in the future. I got in a slump and wanted something cute to wear. I had this black nighty that I obviously can't wear outside the house which was doing me no good. lol. SO I took the front from that since it was the only piece non see through or lace. And the rest is just spare fabric I had from a shirt I made from scratch a year ago. Smiley Woooooo!!! I will never throw out another article of clothing.  Sorry if the pics are blurry... between it being a camera phone and my bathroom mirror it all failed.

30  Christmas Goodies... kind of a lot of pics in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by RippledWater on: January 03, 2010 01:42:21 PM
So I'm putting this here because I made the PillBox hat with a matching purse... And Honestly I have no clue where else this would belong. Smiley so here is the bag first... I'm not extremely pleased with it I think the flap is a bit out of sorts. But it's not bad considering I had no pattern for it.. Just a dream and a sewing machine  Grin The items are made out of black felt, red veil (expensive stuff!! like $7 a yard.. needless to say I used every bit of it in this project), and spare ribbon I got from some Christmas package last year. This is my first purse and pill box.  Wink I made it for my Bestest for Christmas this year and she loved it!

^Hat and Bag

^inside of bag

^Side of hat

^front of hat

^Assembled with the bestest modeling it!!

Comments and Criticism is appreciated.... if you have any advice for a newbie I would love to hear anything you can throw at me... Thanks!!
