1  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Discussion and Questions / Yeti plush? on: October 21, 2011 11:26:00 AM
I'd love to make my boyfriend something similar to this for his birthday.

The description says the fabrics are polyester micro fleece for skin and acrylic fur, but that's about the extent of my knowledge. I wouldn't even know where to begin on this one! Ideas?

3  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions / packaging & shipping on: May 07, 2010 11:09:29 PM
I was wondering if there's a certain trick or guideines to shipping soaps. I'm just worried- will they melt? (particularly the softer ones) What about the crumbly ones- Do you need to have the package marked fragile? Just curious!

Also, what are some methods of packaging soaps that you particularly like? boxes? jars? etc! (the soap itself, not the shipping box or whatever) you get bonus points for posting pictures of the styles you like Cheesy
4  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Discussion and Questions / i hope this is alright to ask! on: May 06, 2010 09:28:53 PM
So I have an old entertainment system in the spare bedroom and it's not getting any love so I thought I'd repurpose it.
I REALLY want to do something like this:

http://designdazzle.blogspot.com/2010/01/tv-entertainment-center-turned-play.html

It looks like such a fun project and my entertainment center has a lot of potential to suit something like that. Okay so here's the problem- I have no kids or little ones to make it for! Do you think it's dumb that I still plan on doing it?

Anyway if I did, I would have no reason for it at home, so I thought maybe I could do the project for my enjoyment and then maybe make a little profit? So what I'm wondering is, if I did this, do you think I could at least get my money back? what about profit? I'm thinking of a ~$55 budget. The entertainment center is technically free so no worries there. Assuming the execution was well (or just judging off that individual's example), what do you think I could price it at? and again, do you think it's a dumb idea?

If not, any general suggestions (paint, hardware, anythinggg) would be AMAZING!

If this isn't allowed, I'm very sorry! Someone can feel free to close the topic if so!

Thank you in advance for any/all suggestions and comments Cheesy
5  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Bows! on: April 21, 2010 11:19:56 PM
I'm not sure this is the right section, so please move it if not!

I never post threads so I figured I could show something I made, even if it's not much!
These are bows I made for my best friend's daughter.

(Sorry, I forgot to flip the image! You get the idea though)
6  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions / Do fragrance oils soap just like the smell in the bottle? on: February 24, 2010 03:10:34 AM
Not sure if I worded that right.

Basically, I just ordered my first FOs and they're supposed to be really good scents.
However, to me they just smell super chemically and nauseating.  So I'm wondering, do they smell like this because they're so concentrated?
Is the scent going to change after I make my products or is this as good as it gets?
7  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions / When it come to these brands, which is the best liquid glycerin? on: January 19, 2010 10:38:18 PM
Or are they all generally of the same grade?

I'm looking at the liquid glycerin on Bramble Berry, The Sage, and Wholesale Supplies Plus.
Bramble Berry's is the cheapest and The Sage's sounds the best (and is also the most expensive. WSP's is right in the middle.

Is any particularly better than the others?

9  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions / How do you make bubble bars? on: November 26, 2009 08:06:41 AM
http://ny-image2.etsy.com//il_430xN.93200010.jpg
This is what a bubble bar is. It crumbles under running water and produces tons of bubbles. It creates a nice lather and is very moisturizing. Companies like LUSH make them, as well as many individuals on ebay/etsy, though I never see them in stores.
Any tutorials? Pictures/videos are a huge help! I appreciate any advice Smiley
