41  Locked Spiral in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by Corvus corax on: November 25, 2009 02:55:15 PM
Two examples of a locked spiral weave, as taught to me by my boyfriend.  He did the chain mail work on the first piece (and I, the bead/wire work and overall design), and then I did the second.

The first is a necklace combining a pendant I picked up at Michaels, copper rings and wire, and unakite beads.  I really like the copper/unakite combo.

A detail shot:

The center bead on this piece is tiger iron, which consists of banded tiger eye, hematite and jasper.  The weave is done with two different rings with slightly different ratios, to give some interesting textural variation.

And again with the details:

42  Tiger Hat! in Knitting: Completed Projects by Corvus corax on: November 23, 2009 01:48:22 PM

The pattern is from Mary Lou Egan (Ravelry link).  My only modification was to make the back of the ears black (and if I ever get some suitable white yarn, I'll put ear spots on it.)

It is my very favorite hat.

43  Canes: Feathers, Citrus, Eyeballs and Squid (Oh my!) in Polymer Clay: Completed Projects by Corvus corax on: November 23, 2009 01:33:38 PM
I've recently rejoined Craftster after a) taking a many, many year hiatus, b) forgetting my username and password and c) deleting (and forgetting) the e-mail address associated with my old account during that hiatus, thus making it rather hard to recover said account, as it's generally required that you know either username or e-mail.  Oops.  Anyway, the one bonus to a multi-year hiatus is that I've got lots of projects to share.

For example: I like to make canes, then stick them onto just about everything.  Sometimes I use other people's tutorials, sometimes I design my own.  For example, in category one (other people's canes):

All images are clickable.

Citrus in three flavors:

Orange, made into beads.

Lemon and lime, made into a bangle.

A blue rose:

(Now with bonus leaf!)

And a feather cane inspired by the Barn Owl:

And in category two (my own designs):

The tutorial for the squid cane, which I named Earl, is here.

The tutorial for the eyeball cane is here.

Woot for my triumphant return!
