851  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Alice in Craftster-Land Round 3 (signups Jan 2-Jan 22, 2011;sendouts Feb.28th on: January 27, 2011 04:50:29 PM
to amymarie and mezcraft - some people put extra swag in, and others don't. It sort of depends on the swap partner, I guess. I go overboard myself, but that's because I have this inability to stop myself from doing 'just one more thing'. It's why I tend to send early, as well .... otherwise I'd have to buy shares in Canada Post to justify spending a fortune for shipping costs. Sometimes partners will decide to swap extra, as well.

i'm so psyched!  i've got ideas, and some supplies, and a list .... all i need is a partner and their wists! My husband is looking forward to this swap too, after he was so impressed by the Dr Who swap stuff I got back. I have a feeling he's thinking about appropriating stuff if he takes a fancy to it.

woohoo! so happy the husband has days off so I can craft non stop for today anyway .... one thing done, others in progress, and the more ideas i start on the more i have .... and I don't want to spend a fortune at the post office, so I have to learn how to edit. Yay!

so, I've been pre-crafting for this swap, and for all my pains and efforts, it was a miserable and dismal failure. Apparently, the Swap Gods do NOT like me pre crafting, so I'll just take the hint. TOMORTER! woohoo!
857  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Doctor Who Swap round 5 gallery on: January 22, 2011 01:23:14 PM
my husband, who is usually so laid back he's comatoast, told me three or four times how much he likes the painting. He's usually very 'meh' about things, even things he genuinely likes, so that's an amazing compliment. Oh, and I got the key chain to blink. Nice and creepy, that. lol

IMAGE OBESE!

I went and got my package from the post office .... as an aside, it's time to get current identification - they weren't going to give it up until I volunteered who it was from and where. Yeah, new ID time.

Under the wrappings and really really well packaged and stuffed innards was this:

And then there was a small bubble wrapped pack with these AWESOME goodies:

the back of the keychain has "DON'T BLINK" on the back. I <3 this, as did my son who tried to steal it.

AND THEN!!!! The lovliest:

sorry about the flash reflections, we have no natural light downstairs because the windows are covered with snow.

BUT WE'RE NOT DONE YET, FOLKS!  A small envelope from which was this:

(i know you can't see the etching very well, but it's of Matt Smith <3 <3)

and a letter, which reads:

Dear Myrdda,
As part of the liquidation of his estate and settlement with creditors, I'm sending you some artifacts from teh Capricorn collection. First up is a keychain aquired from the Drumlin estate. It works best with at least a littel lgiht (and you probably don't want to be left in the dark with it anyway). Next is a pocket watch aquired from the Latimer collection. It's believed to date back to at least 1913 AD. Alson, included is a drawing recovered from just outside Buckingham Palace, of Max's prized but fateful ship, Titanic. Apparently it fell from the sky as the ship passed, but was later returned to the Capricorn estate. The pride of Max's collection thought, is a little known Van Gogh painting. It's believed to be made of a mix of oils and acrylic, often regarded as a bad idea (though not really teh end of the universe ... ha ha), which suggests it's from a time when Van Gogh was quite mad. Finally, I've included a bonus item, a bookmark I believe. Seems like a charming fellow on it, bowtie and all. I do hope you enjoy the lot.

Sincerely

Darryl Barrington, Attorney
Max Capricorn's Estate

And yes, I really do double heart the lot! Thank you so much!

860  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing Machines: Discussion and Questions / Re: singer finesse 807 help on: January 20, 2011 08:18:50 AM
shockingly, I FOUND IT! my problem now is that I sent Singer a very pissed off letter letting them know how dissapointed and angry I was at their site ..... but to be fair, it took me two days to figure out what i needed to know.
