Canada Post usually isn't too sucktastic. Australia and Europe from Canada are sometimes problematic .... but I don't think I've ever had an issue to the States

i'm glad you like -  i was on the fence about doing any sort of embroidery stitch (even plain old blanket stitching) because you're the bomb ... and it's not a skill i have Tongue   i am glad you like the glasses, though Cheesy

thank you! the tutorials are really helpful ... they just don't say: "hey, there's somewhere around 19 sewing hours involved in this" - which would have been good to know Smiley

48  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions / Canadian Glacial clay instead of Bentonite Clay in shaving soap on: February 12, 2014 12:47:36 PM
Wondering if i can substitute Canadian Glacial clay instead of Bentonite Clay in shaving soap - seeing as how i have the first on hand. I can't think it would be that different - but then, i could very well be off base, too.

thx

The pettiskirt is from a tutorial on the net .... i ran the bag off my sewing machine. It does NOT love me anymore.

i actually had to split this bad boy in half, as it definitely read: "Take me to the square dance"

and here's the dress with it under:

50  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Steampunk Frock Coat on: February 10, 2014 10:59:49 AM
So, further to this: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=430632.0#axzz2scefS5lu

I made a frock coat for my daughter for a cosplay thing she's doing. I'm not even really clear what it is. I don't think I even care to ask - I just was pleased to make the coat.

I DID use a pattern - the Simplicity 4923 version, as I found upon further research that the 18th century pattern I had used originally was the father of the Simplicity pattern. Why create more problems that I had to?

So here we go:

The back of the coat. the sleeves and the hood are grommeted and laced on, the buckles on the back are purely decorative. The ones on the sleeves and pockets and front are functional.

Better shot of the pockets. She hasn't taken it off since she put it on.
