received from mightyminniemouse today (well, yesterday, but I couldn't pick it up until today). Onto pics! I asked minnie to craft for my four year old, and she did a great job!

the package! we decided flat rate envelopes were the way to go (although it would be MORE awesome if Canada Post had boxes instead of these crappy cardboard envelopes.)

Lex with his Yeti. It has his name on it, and he was so excited to have it.

a better pic

an amigurumi vampire (very old school, Nosferatu type, which i like!)

Lex with his Monster Car

and a better pic of it

a fuzzy book

with a SECRET compartment! (he kept trying to put the yeti in there, even though it wouldn't fit)

a little monster book, which I had to read to him on the spot (and he liked)

for some reason I don't have a pic of the fake tattoos, but that was also a big hit! Thank you so much, mightyminnie! Lex was thrilled, and could barely wait to get into the house to get his loot. Smiley

44  Cloak Clasp in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by Myrdda on: July 17, 2011 07:00:01 AM
So, I made a patchwork cloak in a private swap, and I also made a cloak clasp (because what good is a cloak you can't close?) I used dollar store clear and white glass stones, layered with a brick red stone I got at a local bead store. I kind of really liked the red stone, as the cloak was meant to be Harry Potter inspired - and the shape of the bead with the gold wire through it reminded me of the symbol for the Deathly Hallows.

This is the clasp together.

One side.

And the other.

45  patchwork cloak - pic heavy in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by Myrdda on: July 16, 2011 08:45:00 PM
Made for a private swap with lvl0rg4n. This took about 18 hours of sewing (not including the swearing time, the time using my daughter to model it to figure out what the heck I was supposed to be doing, or the time just staring at it glassy-eyed with despair), and a few more to line the hood, put beading on it, etc.

This is the right side (the cloak is about knee length  -  it's just hanging on my desk chair).

the red cord is around the hood - the bright pink sheer is the lining for the hood. If you look close, you can sort of see the tassels that hang from the tip of the pointed hood.

Work In Progress - this was just after I finished the hood. It was a pain in the arse.

When she posts pics, I'll ask my awesome swap partner to post some pictures of herself in it. This was really rewarding. It was a PAIN to figure out, but I liked the challenge of it. And, I used up a ton of scraps, which is always a good thing.

received three packages today, will post pics in a bit. yay!

okay, I recieved from pennydreadful, koreena, and a mystery shopper (my kid cleaned up and threw out the package it came in *sigh*) I'm so psyched on how well all the squares went together.

if you see your squares, please speak up. I'm so pleased with all of them!

47  Ludo FRIEND in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by Myrdda on: June 20, 2011 08:44:53 PM
for the Labyrinth swap, I made this Ludo stuffie for her. How can you not love Ludo?? I will say that working with the fun fur was as enjoyable as being stabbed in the eye with a red hot french fry.

48  zombie poppet with removable bits (Image heavy) in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by Myrdda on: June 20, 2011 09:05:50 AM
so, for the Labyrinth swap, a million years ago, deadbathducky and I were partnered up and decided to do 'extras' for each other. I got an amazing TARDIS shadowbox for my husband, and deadbathducky requested a zombie plush with removable organs. It took me three tries, and I was so very unhappy with the first two (they were Weapons Grade Ugly, people). I was going to send the second, but couldn't bring myself to inflict such ugliness and bad crafting, so it was middle of the night crafting and I finally made something I was proud of. She *just* got the package, so I'm happy to post the pics of it.

her face! so proud of this! I'm glad I made it of corderoy, I like the texture.

in her altogether

I needed a way to make her limbs removable - ties were terrible, velcro was a mess - but buttons were a go!

and I needed a chest cavity

for her innards!

heart, stomach, liver, kidneys, lungs, small intestine, large intestine, gall bladder, and bladder

a head flap??

for her braaaaaaaaaiiiiiiiiiinnnnnn

deadbathducky was really hoping for a removable brain (for the doll), so I came up with this - a styrofoam ball cut into basic brain shape, hot glue and greyish paint

and now, to misquote Miss Patsy Cline, she fell to pieces ... (hmm mmm mmm mmm)

and dressed and just hanging out.

50  Re: Lets See Pics of Tattoos You Designed! in Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects by Myrdda on: May 30, 2011 08:03:16 PM
these are the latest I 'designed' although really it was just tons of time messing with fonts. This is 'Baron' I think, I can't really remember. My husband bought these for me for Christmas a few years ago ... so i got this one for my son:

and this one for my daughter:

I also got a fill done on my gryphon at the same time. What a good husband I have. I'm hinting at another tatt for our fifth year anniversary this year.
