31  Re: AND It all Started with the BIG BANG THEORY SWAP!!!! GALLERY in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by Myrdda on: April 02, 2012 05:35:00 PM
Who has two thumbs and got SPOILED by her awesome swap partner? this guy!

awesome door hanger!

a very cool chalk board with chalk and an eraser

a better shot of the eraser with awesome fuzzy socks

a very cool clock hanging up downstairs for both the husband and i to enjoy!

an INCREDIBLY apt coffee mug ... I'm hardcore caffeine addict - can't decide if this should come to work with me - and a question for my partner - is this done with porcelain markers? do they have to be washed special?

and holy goodness - it's WHEATON. As i was checking out these awesome magnets and keychain, I was giggling and squealing just like I was reading TeenBeat magazine. My husband rolled his eyes at my giggly loving of the Wheaton. My kid looked at me like I'd lost my mind.

THANK YOU SOOOOOOOOO MUCH, Grindhouse! I hope you're as happy with your lewts as I am with mine - oh! and last but not least! a tshirt with my favorite quote of all time!

33  Re: Terribly Important SOB Swap II in The Swap Gallery by Myrdda on: March 12, 2012 08:50:50 PM
Who has two thumbs and just received her awesome swap package today?? THIS GUY!

First, straight from my Pinterest to your peepers - (and please excuse my red fingertips - apparently I need to play guitar to the kids EVERY NIGHT at bedtime now)

And next - a book thong, because, as I was so rightly informed, royalty doesn't use bookmarks - we get jewels and tiaras

And the third - and UNBELIEVABLY AWESOME!! (because in our house, we are all waiting for the Robot From The Future Who Brings Cupcakes [a very bizarre family in-joke]) is my very own ROBOT FROM THE FUTURE!! I'm going to take him to work, because my kids actually fought over who would get MY stuff.

BUT!! ohyouarenevergoingt oBELIEVEthis - a quote so near and dear to my heart (and on my profile) - just need to find a frame for it! sorry for the sideways

TAPESTRY, I LURVES YOU! you were a great partner and totally made me SQUEEEEE! with joy after a crappy day at work!

omg, I'm psyched you got your lewt, dollface! I do hope you liked the stuff I sent ... I get kind of squirrely when I send stuff, as I don't want to disappoint. speaking of AWESOME - i received my most wonderful package today!

first! all three of the beautiful skeins i received

the brown one - this was llama and bamboo (i think) and is so dense and warm

the one labelled blue - but it's a lovely almondy tan color - and i like it

the green one - it's so pretty!

and the most WONDERFUL bonus -

how wonderful is my partner!?!? she knew i wanted to learn how to spin - i spent all day websurfing trying to find a source of fiber in the interior, and for some reason I can't find ANYONE who sells up in this area - and the day of my discontent turned to most glorious summer by my lovely partner!  I can't thank you enough!

36  Re: Advent Calendar Swap 2011 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by Myrdda on: November 14, 2011 04:53:44 PM
I received today! Here's a picture of my calendar (sorry about the darkness)

And here's a picture of December 1!  I think the little written part got lost, however. My kids wanted to use the glitter RIGHT NOW! and I had many questing hands for the chocolate ....

December 2:

December 3:

December 4:

I also received a book with Xmas quotes, so I'll put some down for the last four days.

"Health, peace, and sweet content be yours." - Shakespeare

"Whatever else be lost among the years,/ Let us keep Christmas still a shining thing:/ Whatever doubts assail us, or what fears,/ Let us hold close one day, remembering/ Its poignant meaning for the hearts of men./ Let us get back our childlike faith again." - Grace Noll Crowell

"Sing hey! Sing hey!/ For Christmas Day;/ Twine mistletoe and holly./ For a friendship glows/ In winter snows,/ And so let's all be jolly!" - Unknown

"There is nothing on this earth more to be prized than true friendship." - Saint Thomas Aquinas

Dec 5
My husband LOVES this - as does the four year old

"A Christmas gambol/ Oft could cheer/ The poor man's heart/ Through half the year." - Sir Walter Scott

Dec 6 and 7

Our hearts grow tender with childhood memories and love of kindred, and we are better throughout the year for having, in spirit, become a child again at Christmas-time." - Laura Ingalls Wilder

So, my camera is cool, our internet not so much. As I have access at work, and I'm here super early every morning, I'll just update, and post pictures in a while.

I have received a whitish colored rabbit shaped soap; a coin purse; two packets of instant flavored coffee mix; a zippered bag; a fudge bar; a bamboo ring/brooch; mini chocolate bars.
December 8.

December9, 10, 11, 12, 13.

"Some times the holidays can flurry with so much activity. May you experience the calmness found in the true joy of this season!"  - anon

"Here's hoping your holidays are full of rich blessings, simply born from precious hands and best intentions - those who care and want to share life's best with you!" - anon

"Happy, happy Christmas, that can win us back to the delusions of our childish days; that can recall to the old man the pleasures of his youth; that can transport the sailor and the traveler, thousands of miles away, back to his own fire-side and his quiet home!" - Charles Dickens

"Anything for a quiet life." - Thomas Middleton

"A thing of beauty is a joy forever." - John Keats

"Cheer! Now stir the fire, and close the shutters fast,/ Let fall the curtains, wheel the sofa round,/ And, while the bubbling and loud-hissing urn/ Throws up a steamy column, and the cups,/ That cheer but not inebriate, wait on each,/ So let us welcome peaceful evening in." - William Cowper

December 14, 15, 16, 17

a wood burned ornament gift tag; glass beads, soap, foam shapes.

"If you would hit the mark, you must aim a little above it; every arrow that flies feels the attraction of the earth." - Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

"At Christmas play and make good cheer,/ For Christmas comes but once a year." - Thomas Tusser

"Merry Christmas, and may God bless us, every one." - Charles Dickens

"May these verses truly cheer you,/ Give you moments of pure delight/ As the season's festivities amuse us,/ And its beauties bring joys so bright!"

December 18 - woodburned ornament tag
December 19 - crocheted kitchen scrubbie
December 20  - need to find it .....
December 21, 22, 23, 24

and christmas day!

and the gifts

and the apron

37  Re: Dresden Files Swap in The Swap Gallery by Myrdda on: November 11, 2011 09:19:46 AM
It's taken me forever to post pictures! I'm sorry, Puzzled - and although Puzzled Penguin posted pics, i'm going to as well, because it was an awesome pkg for the Husband. He's worn the shirt a few times already, and really likes the technique and the very Dresdenesqeness of it. The back:

 and the front:

the awesome MacAnally's coasters - he brews his own craft beer, just like Mac, and he adores the coasters

and some stickers which will probably make it onto a bottle or two (sorry about the glare, the camera is a P.O.S.):

and an awesome Bob the Skull hoop to go with his growing collection of awesome dorkness on the wall beside his desk:

the only thing not shown was a little package of charms that Puzzled sent to me.

As long as this took, I'm glad that you recieved finally.

38  Re: Significant Other Swap - Round 6 in The Swap Gallery by Myrdda on: October 13, 2011 06:47:01 PM
I went to the post office for one package, and lo and behold there were three there waiting for me! So, whilst tomorrow I will rain on someones' parade down at the post office, tonight we have pictures of my daughter with her awesome swag! She has been pestering me non-stop for a week about this package, so you have no idea how pleased we all are as a family to have her recieve! On to the pics!

first, Morgan tearing into the box (she needed her Daddy's help because she couldn't rip and tear fast enough):

Her Monster High themed bag with a very cool interior fabric of skulls

some yummy candy - she tried to eat the York patty before dinner. Not happening.

a skull patch and a necklace that she was so thrilled for

some Twilight themed cards

a tissue cover with the same awesome fabric (and yes, it really is a terrible picture)

some notepads, a vampire ducky, and some wall decals

some sparkly body lotion

she was so spoiled! Thank you so much for creating such an awesome swap package for her! She says to say Thank You So Much, It's All Epic (her new favorite word)!!

Incidentally, this is the coat I made the messenger bag out of for J_Kievet - I meant to do a before pic, but the camera wasn't cooperating. Ignore Captain Underwear in the background.

received from mightyminniemouse today (well, yesterday, but I couldn't pick it up until today). Onto pics! I asked minnie to craft for my four year old, and she did a great job!

the package! we decided flat rate envelopes were the way to go (although it would be MORE awesome if Canada Post had boxes instead of these crappy cardboard envelopes.)

Lex with his Yeti. It has his name on it, and he was so excited to have it.

a better pic

an amigurumi vampire (very old school, Nosferatu type, which i like!)

Lex with his Monster Car

and a better pic of it

a fuzzy book

with a SECRET compartment! (he kept trying to put the yeti in there, even though it wouldn't fit)

a little monster book, which I had to read to him on the spot (and he liked)

for some reason I don't have a pic of the fake tattoos, but that was also a big hit! Thank you so much, mightyminnie! Lex was thrilled, and could barely wait to get into the house to get his loot. Smiley
