1  rowan mercy beret in Knitting: Completed Projects by paeonia on: September 01, 2005 01:49:52 PM
i knit this beret today Smiley  it is from the rowan ribbontwist collection pattern book.  i used rowan ribbon twist in *rabble* which is a dark brown with gray and tan ribbon twisted around the brown wool (not so apparent from my crappy web cam pictures).  this was my first rowan pattern and i really liked it...it was easy and well written.  there are so many cute patterns in this book...i want to make some of the sweaters but the yarn is sooo expensive but sooo pretty.  this was my first pom pom too Smiley

2  Re: Inspiration for your yarns in Spinning: Discussion and Questions by paeonia on: July 29, 2005 02:10:17 AM
Someone had commissioned me to make a yarn inspired by peacocks and here is the result:

What do you think?  It is merino that I dyed in different colours, as well as Angelina sparkle fibre and sari silk waste.  I am really pleased with it and wish I could keep it but I can't!

so beautiful!!!

3  Re: easter chick egg cosies + tutorial in Knitting: Completed Projects by paeonia on: March 16, 2005 03:34:53 AM
This is such a great pattern and nice and quick and easy and great way to use up left over yarn.  Thanks for sharing.  Heres my bunny and chick.  I used felt for the bunnies ears and embroidery thread for its whiskers.  I am going to make a blue bunny tonight:).

5  boobholder/minisweater in Knitting: Completed Projects by paeonia on: March 10, 2005 03:41:19 AM
I finally made a sweater!!  I used glampyre's pattern (http://glampyreknits.tripod.com/glampyrephotos/id62.html) but altered it a bit.  I used much thicker yarn than she did (8st. =4 in. vs. 13 st. = 4 in.) and so I had to decrease the number of rows and increases and such accordingly, plus I made the sleeves less puffy.  I really loved this yarn when I saw it because of the gold flecks in it but now I think that I would have used a thinner yarn for this type of sweater.  I guess these are the things you learn as you knit things.  Oh well.  Here it is.

7  Re: easy as pie skirt (with tutorial) in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by paeonia on: March 01, 2005 03:46:36 AM
I made this skirt (my first finished project using my sewing machine which I have had for two years now!) using your lovely tutorial...I modified it a bit to make it longer and I used some stretchy velour that I had as waistband instead of a teeshirt.  Sorry for the bad pictures.
waist band:

BTW...I love your website and your drawings! Smiley

9  Another simple hat in Knitting: Completed Projects by paeonia on: January 15, 2005 09:04:55 AM
I just finished this easy hat (I am a new knitter and these are my first hats) for my mother-in-law.  It looks pretty similar to the one hour hat that was posted earlier here.  Its actually the third one I have made but this time I actually followed the directions Smiley and used two yarns.  The free pattern is here http://www.marthastewart.com/page.jhtml?type=content&id=channel181746&catid=cat356.  Here they are...for the red one I used manos yarn and the brown one I used brown chunky yarn and tan synthetic mohair.

10  Re: Really simple decoration in Completed Projects by paeonia on: January 11, 2005 08:33:26 AM
Laamissa-

Thanks for the link!  I was thinking along those lines as well...I started making felt versions yesterday but got discouraged by my cutting ability...the circles just didnt look very neat...jagged edges and such.  I didnt think about gluing them together to make them more three dimensional like yours so when I looked at mine hanging flat they looked like a three year old had made them Embarrassed.  Maybe I will try them again using your method of gluing them together so they look better.  I am really into simple shapes and mobile things right now for some odd reason too.  I put one of the garlands on my lamp too which I thought looked nice since the lamp is very plain.  I might make some more to put on there...it looks kind of lonely. Sorry about the bad picture...not enough light.  I plan on knitting these pillow covers (http://www.rebecca-online.com/en/anleit/sheft_07_anl_28.pdf to match the colors of some of the dots too since everthing in the room is currently white but I am trying to find a cheap yarn to match the look of the pillows.  Any suggestions?
