5  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / 3rd sewing project...still loving it :) - baby hat on: February 10, 2010 10:50:20 AM
I am teaching myself how to sew and this is a cute hat that I found in "The Essential Guide to Sewing" by Debra Bradley and Ruth Southorn.  (A great book by the way : )

Too bad I don't have a baby to model the hat for me Sad  I just stuffed it so you can get an idea of what it would look like.  The last picture is the one found in the book.

6  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / My first quilt/sewing project on: January 25, 2010 10:31:57 PM
I made this rag quilt for my niece.  I have been wanting to learn how to sew for some time now and I have finally gotten the courage to try it.  I love YouTube and sites like this.. they are my teachers : )

7  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / My first Amigurumi on: January 24, 2010 11:38:04 PM
I was extremely bored this evening and fed up with my sewing machine so I decided to try an amigurumi.  I have crocheted a couple of blankets but I only knew two stitches and was never taught the basics.  I did not know what any of the stitches were called etc : ) Anyways I found an extremely helpful video on YouTube that helped walk me through this cute lil mouse.  I had to also watch some basic beginner crochet videos first so that I could understand what some of the terms were etc.

Here is my mouse : )

8  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / My first time sewing a clothing item and using a pattern. I love it. on: January 24, 2010 01:53:19 AM
I have been teaching myself how to sew and have only made a couple little baby quilts using the trial and error method.  Well a few months back I got brave and tried to sew this dress using a pattern.  It probably took me much longer than it should have ...but it was a success.
