1  Re: Decked Out for Deathly Hallows Part II GALLERY! in The Swap Gallery by Opaka on: July 05, 2011 01:29:25 PM
I received, I received, I received from Bananaleg!!!  Cheesy

First, a group shot...

Now we have a little deathly hallows pin, made out of felt.

A pair of earrings, in the colors of both Ravenclaw AND my quidditch team, Puddlemere United!

A lovely watercolor of Snape, one of my very favorite characters.

Edible number one, Butterbeer fudge!

Edible number two, pretzel broomsticks!  (Somehow I don't think either of these edibles will actually make it to the movie, but whatever!)

An amazing Ravenclaw scarf!  (Bananaleg was worried about the rolling, but I actually like it a lot.  So all is well.  Cheesy)

And my MOST FAVORITEST ITEM OF ALL, the bag!  Bananaleg said she had a hard time getting motivated to do it, but I'm so happy she did because I LOOOVEEEE it!  The photo doesn't even do it justice - the fabrics are so lovely and shiny and pretty.  It's lined with a lovely starry sky fabric.  (It makes me think of one of my favorite TV shows, Doctor Who.  Heheh.)  I will be using the bag all during LeakyCon and at the WWoHP and at the movie and everywhere else too.  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

Thanks so much for being my partner again!  I love everything!  Cheesy

I just finished something that I'm extremely proud of.  I've never done the craft before and it turned out so awesome!  Cheesy  I also got a key component for my last item today, so everything's going nicely.

On the topic of HP gifs, this one's my favorite:

I received from Bananaleg!  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

So, the box first:

I got a Red Vines pouch!!!  And inside was a little Draco finger puppet AND a Ravenclaw drawstring bag.

The other side of the bag:

A rather genius hat.  It's simple enough at first, but think about it a minute...  It's Ron's hair with his headband!

I squealed a little when I recognized what this was.  AWWWWWWW.  Smiley  <3

I've been wearing it since I opened the package.  Smiley

I couldn't get a good far away picture, so some close ups:

And finally, my very favorite items.  (Also my partner said they were the most fun for her to make.  Smiley)

RED VINES AND RED VINES FINGERLESS MITTS!!!!!!!!!!!!  They're, like, the coolest things ever.  (The mitts.  Although the red vines are pretty cool as well.)  And I absolutely love fingerless mitts, so these will definitely be put to use.

Thanks so much Bananaleg.  You made a BOSS package for me.  Cheesy

Here we go, some extra photos from the package I sent to Groperesponsibly.  Smiley

I got my package from Groperesponsibly!  It's pretty dang awesome.  Grin Grin Grin

FEZ JEWELRY SET!!!  When I showed my mom these (I introduced her to DW and she's watched all five post-2005 seasons with me) she was like, "What does that have to do with Doctor Who?".  It's kind of funny, but I guess the whole fez thing isn't really that prominent to someone who doesn't participate in the DW fandom.  I mean, it *was* only in there for a small amount of time, but it seems like everyone online has really picked it out and had fun with it.  It's definitely one of MY favorite little things that Eleven has done!

A TARDIS pendant!

Vashta Nerada earrings!  (Very cool way of showing them, with the shadows and bones, don't you think?)

TARDIS-blue buttons and beads.  Smiley

...And finally my very favorite piece, a freakin' 3/4 inch-tall dalek pendant!  The detail on this thing is amazing.  I'm afraid to even touch it because I'm so clumsy and I feel like I'm going to smash it somehow.  xD

Thanks so much for being my partner!  This was a very awesome package.   I'm quite excited to have such a large Doctor Who jewelry set now!  Cheesy

Okay, I FINALLY got my package today!  That took a while...  (*glares at the postal service*)

First up we have a knitting needle holder.

Here's the close-up of the embroidery, which is so cool!

If you can't see the words, it says "the angels have the phone box".

Here's the back of it:

There's also a little pouch to match.

And I just love this little embroidery piece!  It's so cute, and I like the lettering.

I have a shelf on my desk that I called my Nerd Shelf (It currently holds two sonic screwdrivers, a rubik's cube, a 10th doctor figurine) and that's where I've placed this.  It looks pretty cool up there.

Thanks for being my swap partner, GeekySweetheart!  Glad you liked everything.  Smiley

And to everyone who (so nicely Smiley) said they liked my TARDIS stamp, I do actually have an Etsy shop.  Do you think I should make some more of those stamps and sell them?

8  A Very Potter Musical/Sequel Swap in New Swap Theme Ideas by Opaka on: December 03, 2010 11:51:21 AM

I would love to do an AVPM/AVPS swap if anyone is interested!  I'm not sure many people know about it on here so I wanted to see if there would be enough people for a swap.  Smiley  And just to be clear, you would be swapping only AVPM/AVPS stuff.  (So nothing to do with the movie; i.e. everything would be relevant to AVPM/AVPS in some way.)

If you haven't seen A Very Potter Musical or A Very Potter Sequel you can check out the awesomeness out here: http://www.youtube.com/starkidpotter#p/c/C76BE906C9D83A3A/0/wmwM_AKeMCk

Also, this could extend a little bit to be a Starkid swap and then we could include stuff from MAMD, if anyone would like that.  Smiley

Oh, and if there's only like one other person, we could do a personal swap if you like!

I got my package from Staar84 today!  It was very exciting.  Cheesy  Annoying thing was, we got two other packages before this one and I kept getting excited and then they were something else.  xD

A rock paper scissors lizard Spock shirt!  I'm going to have to practice the order of what beats what so I can explain it to my non-nerdy friends.  (I.E., all of them.  Sad)

Eight Doctor Who cards.  Cheesy

A Doctor Who tote bag!!!

Other side of the tote bag.  I love it when I see a two hearts design like this somewhere, and now I can bring it with me.   Grin

And my absolute favorite item - a TARDIS wallet!  I mean, it's seriously awesome.  Funny thing is, my purse is slowly fulfilling my Doctor Who obsession.  (I got a knitted Face of Boe coin purse in a swap a while ago and now I have the wallet too!)

...And the inside of the wallet.

Thank you so much Staar84!  Everything is so awesome.  Smiley
